  1. West Palm Beach Police: Heroin deaths up as flakka use falls
11:56 a.m. Feb. 24 by Hannah Winston / Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
As flakka use has fallen, the use of heroin has risen and so far seven people in West Palm Beach have died of suspected heroin overdoses this month, police say. This brings the total number since the start of December to 11.

  2. And..........are you suggesting that the beef might be laced? :)

Let's get all of the candidates to stop up there, not just the Trio.

  3. That'll be a first! It's rare that the wanna be candidates shows up at community events. Like none of them showing up for the beach cleanup two weekends ago!

  4. I say sure. As long as they know who is putting it on. People who feel strongly about re-electing our incumbents.

  5. They're out campaigning, anonymous @3:03---they don't have $20k in their coffers from development interests.

  6. Well, if it's the Firefighters, then they represent everyone in this city, don't they @3:16? ...at least there are others in this city who pay county taxes that support their salaries and benefits.

  7. Next time the firefighters union calls begging for a donation the answer will be "No! You stupid A-holes supported pigs like Triolo,Amoroso and Maxwell."
I no longer support the Firefighters union.

  8. I love firefighters and they are truly the heroes in our community, I just wish people would respect the flashing lights and horns and move out of their way when they are responding to a call... Even if it's to an overdose call for druggies who don't even care about themselves.

Firefighters have a tough job… And only made tougher when decisions have to be made between responding to a heart attack or stroke where minutes count or responding to a drug overdose… Who makes that decision? I want the heart attack or stroke to come before the overdose, sorry but I do.

  9. I think the Firefighters are going to be surprised and maybe a bit embarrassed on the night of March 15. But that's OK. We will forgive them as long as they endorse the right guys next time -- Not the bought-and-paid for developer's TRIO. Hey firefighters -- You DO understand that Triolo, Maxwell and Amoroso fought like Hell to give our public beach away to a developer, Don't You?????????

  10. Hey Anonymous at 9:05pm you might want to change your talking points this close to the election, that line of BS is so tired and actually loses you votes. Be positive, tell us voters what you or your candidate(s) are actually going to do for the City to make it better and stop the tired sky is falling false accusations. And do not attack Firefighters, it makes you look desperate. Now go try harder with some intelligent pro-change talking points, please!!

  11. Excuse me, anon at 7:19 ? Szerdi got kicked out of office for trying to give away our public access to Lake Worth Beach to Hudson Holdings! It's anything BUT a "tired line of B.S. "!
Pam Triolo, Scott Maxwell and Andy Amoroso are scared $hitless that the people will remember that they also tried to hand over our Beach. Pam Triolo's appointment to the ITN secret committee was the main cheerleader for Hudson Holdings. You know the same woman holding a meet and greet for Scott Maxwell .Pam,Andy and Scott can try to run away from Hudson Holdings as fast as their little legs will carry them, but it won't work. The people are mad as hell and totally fed up !

  12. Amoroso, Maxwell and Triolo as well as the other two, McVoy and Maier NEVER HAD A VOTE TO SELL THE BEACH. Quit with the rumor mongering. What you are saying is pure fabrication to conjure up a boogy man that simply does not exist.

What does exist is this meandering and maligning subversive thread that we are going to lose our beach and golf course to developers.

Nonsense, it is not possible because it is in our Charter that we can not 'give away' the beach nor can we sell it - the beach will always be a public asset belonging to the City of Lake Worth. And the golf course has deed restrictions from the previous owner who donated it to the city, that if it is used for anything else than a golf course, the property reverts back to the previous owner.

Come on people, if there even existed a sliver of a possibility that the beach could be sold, don't you think the City Of Palm Beach, would have jumped on that chance with all their smart and fancy lawyers, and made us an offer we couldn't refuse? The City of Palm Beach has a lot more money than Hudson Holding could even dream of.

Quit with the phoney baloney story telling.

  13. Thanks, Scott @11:14.

You are correct. The City cannot SELL the beach but what it can do is give a 20 year lease minus a day and renew that lease up to 99 years for our 19 acre beach park. From a vote on the dais, it can allow development there.

We also know about our golf course but we also know how clever lawyers can move their "case" forward to their desired end. Anything is possible when it comes to politics.

We have seen you in action and feel there is a lot of baloney going on. :)
