Kwanzaa to be celebrated in Lake Worth

Comment Up

The city just put out it's on-line news that states:

Celebrate Kwanza on Saturday, December 26 at 2:00 PM in City Hall annex

The first specifically African-American holiday was created by Maulana Karenga in 1965. During the early years of Kwanzaa, it was meant to be an "oppositional alternative" to Christmas.  Karenga was convicted of felony assault charges in 1971 after he was accused of torturing two women. He did serve time behind bars, but reports differ on whether he spent four or five years in prison.

However, and in spite of his felony conviction and prison term, Kwanzaa gained mainstream adherents when Karenga altered his position so that practicing Christians would not be alienated and he could gain members. "Many African Americans who celebrate Kwanzaa do so in addition to observing Christmas," according to Wikipedia.

But because of Political Correctness, we are not allowed to have anything that exclusively mentions Christmas and there is no special city event with the word Christmas in it. Even the tree is now a Holiday Tree.  The Parade is a Holiday parade.

Politically correct Christmas poem

  1. What CRAP !.Why are we having a parade at this time of year?Is it in honor of Shiva? Why are we putting up a tree? Is it a Hanukkah tree? As a CHRISTIAN, I am offended that we do not call a CHRISTMAS parade and a CHRISTMAS tree what they are.If the mention of my religious holiday CHRISTMAS offends anyone ,too damn bad. Suck it up and shut up.Maybe if Christians cut people's heads off there would be more respect for Christmas.(Holiday parade??? We will put a fatwa on your heathen heads for not using the word CHRISTMAS )!! All of the PC anti Cristian crap that we Christians have to put up with would not exist.
Merry Christmas everyone and here's hoping that Santa can avoid all of the pot holes in Lake Worth.I saw one big enough to swallow up a sleigh and eight reindeer over on Ramsey.
