It is really pathetic that someone can write anonymously to the Herald about the Hands off our Beach signs. What's worse than that?...The Lake Worth Herald printing an anonymous complaint with a misspelled word to boot.. It's getting as bad as a blog. LOL.
The "red" signs are staying up especially since the city manager said no decision would be made as to what the city will do at our casino complex until after the election. Hudson Holdings is very much around and still in the casino complex game. Don't let them fool you. They even went for an up-zoning (contract zoning?) of the Gulfstream Hotel parcels Wednesday night at the Historic Resources Preservation Board. One down; a few more to go.
It is no wonder that we have little trust in Lake Worth City Hall, in Hudson Holdings or the "visionaries" on the dais.
We have a very VIGILANT group of citizens who went to the expense and effort of creating these vibrant signs to do what the 3 unrepresentative commissioners was (and still is) unwilling to do: respect the will of the people and refuse to entertain developer cons to get part or all of our billion dollar 20 acre beach property.
ReplyDeleteThe bow tied con posing as City Manager was highly instrumental in bringing forth this effort, fortunately aborted for now.
It will be prudent to leave these signs up until after the election.
Oh my goodness--I just had a good laugh reading what the Post printed. It's like something straight out of a Frank Cerebino novel (Shady Palms, anyone?). Are we supposed to still view the post as a serious paper reporting news since they have been the first to report the startling revelation hot off the press that active voters in Lake Worth have nothing more pressing on their agenda than an unexplainable penchant for placing signs in their yards? And of course news of this cutting edge importance simply must protect this valuable source with layers of anonymity. I seem to remember their policy was diametrically the opposite when it was a news paper and not a payoff to be purchased. Or read for a laugh.
ReplyDeleteLove your comment--but the Post would not print an anonymous comment.
ReplyDeleteConsider the source-both the letter writer and the rag that published it.
ReplyDeleteCurious that the coward is not concerned with Hudson Holdings 's deserted trash dump of a hotel site.
He's one of the boys.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that visitors are asking about and noticing the signs. I have spoken to many visitors on the beach who were very dismayed the past year to learn that there may be both more development and closing some of it to the public. We do have many yearly visitors who have come regularly for up to 20 years to vacation here for our beach. Specifically because it is accessible and not overbuilt. We need to keep the signs up so these people know what takes place when it is off season with less publicity and therefore on season for land grabs. And yeah, this needs to be front and center in the elections.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading it, sounds like Easton himself. Nothing would surprise me. Didn't that silly group give him some sort of surprise party for being the world's best?
ReplyDeleteGood reminder to those losers that want to turn over the beach to private enterprise. I love it. Let's put more out!
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the signs either and my Mom who was visiting commented on them. But, I told her as soon as those signs disappear a certain private developer will be right back trying to steal our beach.
