"We borrowed at least $6 million to construct that casino building and a large portion of that came out of the Water Fund. And on top of that, we borrowed untold numbers of dollars for the infrastructure on the beachfront property.
So, not only do we continue to find ways to keep things solvent and stable, we found millions of dollars to throw at a beach project..."
~ Scott Maxwell
Vice Mayor, we did NOT borrow untold numbers (2 million) for the infrastructure at the beach. This was money in the CIP. You are running for re-election and really need to get up to par. We set aside money and use it for capital projects just like you want to do at the Park of Commerce. The difference in using money from the Capital Improvement Fund on the beach vs the POC is, we OWN THE BEACH PROPERTY unlike property at the POC that you want to pour money into in the amount of $8,700,000 according to the final budget you just approved in order to attract developers.
Talk about irresponsible government.
Scott Maxwell wants to give Lake Worth taxpayer dollars to his hare-brained development at the Park of Commerce scheme. The taxable value payback would take at least 100 years.
ReplyDeleteAs a realtor he caters to developers for potential commissions for himself and donations to his upcoming campaign.
Vote him out in March 2016!
Totally agree as we need our city infrastructure NOW!
ReplyDeleteHe's a Realtor? I've never seen his name on any For Sale sign in Lake Worth. How does he make his money?
ReplyDeleteDon't know if he is a REALTOR but he is a licensed real estate sales associate.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a conflict of interest ! This guy gets ZERO on the Truth-O-Meter !
ReplyDelete76 cents a month. 1.53 cents per month. Gee Commissioner Maxwell thats MUCH less than the cost of a hamburger and a cup of coffee, wouldn't you say? Commissioner Maxwell, when you were trying to grab 63 MILLION dollars out of my pocket, you, Mayor Triolo , Commissioner Amoroso and the now non-existent Commissioner, John Szerdi ,thought that it was just peachy keen !
ReplyDeleteYou four also STOLE 50,000 from the citizens for propaganda promotion of this 63 million dollar non capped cookie jar.You ALSO didn't blink an eye when you authorized ANOTHER 30,000 for a special election to facilitate the 63 million dollar whoopie fund.
Does anybody remember the magical mystery bus tour facilitated by Mr.'s H.and H., operatives of FPL ?
I sure do wish I could subpoena your phone records, Commisisoner Maxwell.

Why wouldn't he vote to raise parking rates at the beach since he is so concerned about the beach numbers? Oh, he wants the beach to fail so he can hand it over to developers, I get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a buffoon. Now he has wife or some other relative on FB attacking the other commissioners.
@10:42--what Facebook page?
ReplyDeleteOh, now I see who you mean--that is not a relative...Lisa Maxwell is the chair of electric Utility Advisory Board and has always been on that side of politics. Board appointments are usually political.
ReplyDeleteTo the lovely person who just attempted to post on someone's weight--get a life. No crude personal attacks. On top of that, the person weighs 100lbs less than the one you are comparing to.
ReplyDeleteWhat we want in local government is simple--honor the vote of the people and be fiscally responsible. Politicians are fair game and they need to be called out for stupidity.
