Anarchists make his head explode

Comment Up

The latest edition of The Lake Worth Herald is hot off the press...

In it, the editor's brain appears to be the only thing on fire. He is finding fault with the ACLU lawyer who was present at the last city commission meeting who was there reminding the commission of rights of the homeless. The editor has found fault with the homeless and their advocates who remained seated during the invocation and the Pledge to the Flag and on shhhhhh, anarchists. From his editorial one can gather that he and his fantastical political friends believe the anarchists are behind the homeless invasion and fear anarchists to a point of absurdity—some excerpts:

“The real crux is not the homelessness; that’s just an anarchists way of kicking down the door.”

The next outlandish statements were—

Lake Worth has an election coming up and these people will use every opportunity to twist and create falsehoods to sway the vote of Lake Worth Citizens who just want to live their life in Lake Worth. Sitting commissioners, Ryan Maier and Christopher Mcvoy APPEAR to be sympathetic to the anarchists [using the word "appear" gets him off the hook of a lawsuit] and if they get another sympathetic commissioner [sympathetic to what?] in the next election, anarchy could rule Lake Worth.

Think of a Lake Worth with no street lights, completely dark at night. That is the atmosphere they desire. [I believe that this statement is libelous but if not that, OUTRAGEOUS].

Think parks and city streets where it is completely unsafe to visit. A city where going out of your home is extremely dangerous. A Lake Worth the majority of citizens don’t want to see. [Again, SILLY]

Ok, come on, paint graffiti on our building again. [And then after insult after insult, he taunts them to commit vandalism--just more SILLY STUFF]

Please let me remind all of you that 1) Maier and McVoy did not agree or disagree with the homeless or take any stand of any kind, nor did Cara Jennings.  Cara Jennings was there to talk about the Siemens contract, not the homeless. 2) This problem has existed for years and this commission has been in power for years now with the problem  getting worse along with the panhandling. 3) The person that Easton is so scared of owns her own home, she is not homeless, and she was an elected commissioner for two terms. She did not create the homeless situation.

I just wish that our commissioners McVoy and Maier could sue for this defamation.  But it's opinion, and you can get away with just about any lie, twisted as it may be, without  repercussion if you are clever enough.  However, the voters are smarter than some politicos believe even the local press. All the lies didn't win it for them this past March and all their ranting now and silly comments about anarchists won't help them in the future.

If anything is to be learned from our past election, besides having an honest message, it is to honor the people you serve. People before Politics as Ryan Maier said.

  1. Politically, this newspaper has always been this way and that's why I haven't subscribed in years. He talks out of his butt when it comes to politics. he holds the wrong people in awe but then they advertise in his paper. Just sayin.

  3. the towns to our north and south don't have the problem with crime and blight that we have, they also don't have anarchists running around

    food for thought

  4. You got that one right. Do you suppose that Mark is homeless?

  5. Please name all of the anarchists that you are so concerned about. What are there--5 out of 36,000 people? Scary.

  6. I work in WPB and I can tell you that they have similar homeless issues in their downtown. Its not quite as bad as our homeless problem probably b/c there is a greater police presence. They also have prostitutes, etc. on Dixie Hwy, the hookers seem to move back and forth between LW and WPB.

  7. It is funny to hear the fear of the so called anarchists that make this town their home. How many people are we talking about? Maybe three? They have little to no power although they do seem to have time to show up for meetings. I'm much more concerned with things like crime, blight, etc. Who is keeping the City and Code from dealing with crime and blight, is it really these 2 or 3 anarchists? If this is true, why is the City and Code and PBSO so terrified of these 3 people? Why do they listen and bow down to their requests? These three folks must have some serious dirt on the majority commission to make them do their bidding.

Oh they actually don't pay much attention to them? I see, so why would they be considered so powerful? Such a farce!

  8. 11:16

You are conveniently ignoring all the murders that have taken place in WPB over the last few months. They have clearly exceeded our totals in Lake Worth.

  9. Easton made a deal with the city a long time ago if he wrote favorably on the city and all its policies he wouldn't have to pave or drain his parking lot.

  10. LOL, anonymous @1:50. Didn't even know he had a parking lot. One thing for sure, he is biased toward that side of politics.

  11. Reason is he is so biased is he eats, drinks and parties with all of them. Just look at him and his wife, they are always there with the bitter people. It is probably just rubbing off on him. Probably doesn't pay either.

  12. I still ask, name them...just who are the anarchists that "have time to show up for meetings" as said above. Jennings attends a few a year when there is an item to be decided that can profoundly affect our city as did the Siemens contract of Tuesday night. The visionaries just voted us into $33.2 million in debt in order to get a break-even position so that they could change light bulbs, get smart meters and put solar panels at our landfill. Pretty outrageous.

  13. If city hall were labeled a drug free zone would the editor of the Herald be allowed in the front door?

  14. Mcvoy and Maier didn't say anything. Neither did the Majority Commission. Are they all for anarchy? The only one making parks unsafe is the City Manager who took away the drinking fountains and benches from the kids and Moms in the park. The ugly Grape Ape, Owl from the grove and the pink butt graffiti around town were allowed to blight our town under the majority stinkeroos -Mayor Pam Triolo,Commissioner Scot Maxwell and Andy Amoroso.(And by the way those are NOT their real names).
