Common Ground Church is still praying for folks--praying for the City of Lake Worth and a few special people who have been less than kind towards them or towards others. We can all fit into one or two of those categories from time to time. Hopefully we all will soon see the light and feel the love, not hate.

After
the storm passed there was a rainbow, a promise. Common Ground Church
is moving across the street to The Bamboo Room on Sunday mornings. More
details coming soon.

I'm wondering how they are justifying using a bar for a church function especially because many of the congregants are recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. I know my church's charter prohibits church sanctioned functions at establisents serving liquor because it conflicts with their sponsorship of AA and NA.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there's some enlightenment to be discovered by temptation delivered in a house that many have fallen to before. Hmmm. I'll drink to that.
God...this is a coffee shop--NO BAR other than a coffee counter.
ReplyDeleteHow can you make such a statement? Check out the facts before you once again malign this church.
And they'll keep praying for the bullies.
I'll take a shot of Jack with my wafer.
ReplyDeleteThe fact remains... The Bamboo Room is a bar
ReplyDeletethey will need a new lake worth business license and inspection as the bamboo room is a bar and does not meet requirements for a church....the bamboo room could be cited for working outside the scope of their license if they proceed without first contacting code and zoning and obtaining the required documentation...
ReplyDeleteif you are in contact with them (Lynn) you may want to let them know before they cause another blowout...just sayin'.....
Anon at 9:27 Don't worry about Pastor Mike Olive. He knows exactly how to deal with the Nazi's in Lake Worth. We need the prayers of good men and women of God more than ever in the battle to rid Lake Worth of the evil that has taken over our city administration and Commission.Bornstein lost his soul many years ago in worship at the Grove. Many of our elected officials bow down to evil and greed.Pray for Lake Worth.Good men and women will triumph over evil.
ReplyDeleteSo does that mean anyone can open up any kind of business anywhere they want? Anytime they want? Gee I'm gonna sign up and become a house of worship... Then they can't stop us from sacrificing goats and chickens to honor our Gods. Hope they like the blood splashes on the door frames - it purifies our ceremonies.
ReplyDeleteNext up, I can open up a fart factory next door to Kilwins, or better yet next to the kava bar.
Why not just open up a garbage pit and jump in. That would solve all your nasty sarcasm. But then, the church would still pray for you. I would be against that but they're a whole lot nicer than I. :)
