Lake Worth Ranking near the bottom

Comment Up
You 'gotta' be 'kiddin' me pal!

It's near the bottom of the ranking as a family friendly place to live but that doesn't deter some folks with the rah rah.  But isn't that what a mayor is supposed to do? If it weren't for all the slum, blight, poverty, high unemployment and crime, maybe we could raise our ranking. We certainly do have the amenities and with the next budget, those too might be less affordable when you and your family park at our beach.

Mayor Pam Triolo said she wasn’t surprised Lake Worth was listed.
“We have a lot of cool stuff for families to do,” she said. “And we have a great downtown with live music and art. I’m very excited because people are more willing to reinvest in our city.”

Karla Engel points to the city’s small town charm as one reason why she loves Lake Worth.
“It’s wonderful to bump into people we know wherever we go,” she said.

  1. You forgot to mention the crappy schools, all the illegals, homeless and drug addicts living in sober homes right next door to our family friendly home.

  2. You forgot to say that all you families need to learn and speak Spanish.

  3. At least we made the list. We do have a lot to offer families and we should highlight the positives, but also continue to work on the crime, blight, etc. (including illegal short term rentals and sober homes and homeless).

  4. Doesn't the mayor have a marketing company? How come then that we are near the bottom of the barrel?

  5. Here's one you forgot. You can have your kids go outside and play in the hundreds of potholes. The city gives big raises to its managers but won't fix a pothole.

  6. Another thought is how many of our employees actually are living in the city of Lake Worth that are not forced to because of contacts (Directors) I think that number would surprise you. Ask your city clerk where she lives? Ask your Interim Dir where he lives.

  9. you have to also remember the past and laura hanna who use to be city manager-who asked new city manager susan straton to write her a check for her medical expense---that will tell you what laura hanna was up too----susan refused to write a check for her---criminal actions deserve investigation into really what is happening in our lost city

  10. Karla Engle quoted -Isn't she the political hack Starbucks buddy of Jessica Duchebag? The same Jessica that lied about Commissioner Maier and doesn't even live in Lake Worth? The same Jessica that lets her kids run barefoot in the street and has the police called on her ?
