Property Values Palm Beach County

Comment Up

Property values for 2015 show an increase for every city in the county. Lake Worth shows a 10.5% increase from last year, ahead of the County average. We will have more money to work with but the sheriff might just take it all.

  1. That is good news for our city and operations. Maybe now we can use some of that income to reward employees with a raise as they have not had one in 7 years. Of course the CM $10,000 and the HR Dir $15,000 found enough money to get raises. And yes maybe we can make some necessary repairs to our streets as well.

  2. That would be a good political move, anonymous. Maybe they can figure out a way to make it happen.

  3. What was the county average? I do hope this means more properties in the City of Lake Worth will move onto the City tax rolls. That is what we really need, more properties paying into the City tax coffers.

Yes, it helps if our property values rise, but the more interesting and important question for the property appraiser is: how many properties will pay City taxes. What is the answer to that question? We need and must move to and towards getting back to at least half the properties paying City taxes and not just a paltry one third.

  4. It's probably already factored in to the proposed budget and already spent. They haven't told us how much the PBSO will go up. No news is bad news with LW.

  5. This is exactly why taxes should NOT be on our property but from sales at local businesses. The focus of reps would be in the right direction! CRA (Shadow Gov) can take your tax dollars - improve a building/area - increase that value (while your property remains the same) thus 'rising tides lift all boats' regardless if it's a true increase and we're screwed. On the other hand - we pay an economic development manager big bucks and the reps should redirect that position to a tax collected from businesses, send less UP THE LADDER to the state/fed - KEEP THE $$$ HERE and use it for what we need not what our reps/lobbyists can 'beg back' in grant money - pffft grant money - what a joke! Grant Grant Grant and the strings attached that will strangle us! Time to rethink the sad state of affairs and allow common sense and MATH to prevail!

  6. Grant money is not some magical potion appearing out of thin air -IT IS SOMEBODY ELSE"S HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS!!! Pam Triolo and the rest of the gang all had a bad case of counting their chickens before they were hatched and now they all have egg on their faces! It really is embarrassing how our elected officials act like whores, going to Tallahassee to bow down to even bigger elected pimps.William Waters,Mike Bornstein ,Scott Maxwell and the rest need to get over their delusions of grandeur.
