No way on A & B! But C could work out well as a real money maker.......Are there term limits in LW? Pam is making things happen more than anyone since, well Dorsey, oh wait he didn't do much except getting rid of that pesky X rated move theatre downtown. Wait a minute maybe we need to bring that back and put it at the beach!!
Cute comments...that is why no one trusts you guys. And then to boot, you bring back a mayor who was in office 25 years ago or something like that. Wow...try harder to malign. You guys do it best. What is Pam doing exactly? Please be specific. There is one thing that we do know--she has no faith in our city maintaining anything.
Lynn, Lynn, Lynn Darling you take your self far too seriously. DD was brought up because for some unknown reason he keeps re-appearing around election time. Of course not his doing but I find it funny. But seriously I am not one of "them" now one of "you" just an observer of all things amusing and Lake Worth provides unending material.
Now I do like Pam and I think she is trying hard to do the right thing but alas the Mayor (any Mayor in this City) has little power but sure gets the brunt of everything that goes wrong. One must be a masochist to take on such a job. So relax Lynn, take a step back and breathe in the humidity.....
Oh thanks, @ 8:28. Dennis Dorsey not only "appears around election time," he is here all of the time. He has a daughter who lives here and pays a lot in taxes. He does much for the Alumni Foundation helping to raise thousands of dollars. He was an elected official here and cares very much about the city. He had a business here for years. So, what do you find so amusing?
Trying to do the "right thing" and actually doing it, as you know, are two different things. The mayor has fallen into the trap of believing the political BS that some who came before her were out to destroy our city. She did not honor our vote on heights; she wants to outsource our casino and does not listen to the people. Rightfully so, for getting the brunt of everything that goes wrong. She should have been at the last Selection Committee meeting and listened and learned and noticed the number of residents who turned out.
Yes the city does not have to pay itself back 500,000 per year for the beach loan. What is worrisome is they cannot afford to. Yet you still rally your troops around paying the 200,000 loss at the pool. We are 70 employees short yet you still harp on blight. Why in the world do you bitch about city govt. trying to get people interested in investing in our city. God knows we cannot afford to.Your message lacks any sense.
Pam, it was YOU who voted not to pay the principal on the loan. I would like to know why the pool and our facility has not been marketed at all. As far as a loss goes, does the Osborne Gym make a profit? What about our ball parks?
I would love to see people interested in investing but until you clean up the basics, not to mention the crime it attracts, why should they. Of course, you want to give them every deal imaginable...no taxes for 10 years, pay for the infrastructure, give them $500,000 to open a Publix, $700,000 to attract the arts downtown, build affordable rentals on the railroad tracks, spend a mil on paving 7th Avenue S so they can get to I-95 more easily, change zoning in the POC to allow affordable rentals, etc.
What this commission has done ,and done extremely well, is ignore the citizens of Lake Worth. Come to a consensus on heights at the golf course meeting, then deny that you did. Throw out an entire legally appointed P&Z board because the majority Commission was afraid of one person on the board, (Cara Jennings). Get mad when the citizens that got kicked in the ass don't come crawling back to be re-appointed to the same board they just got kicked off of. Ignore an overwhelming vote of the people to keep heights to a maximum of 45 feet in our downtown corridor.(BTW-45 feet became the law one minute after midnight the day after the election, in spite of Pam Lopez refusing to do her job and forward the results to Tallahassee) AGAIN, 45 feet IS THE LAW here in Lake Worth in our downtown corridor. Allow no public forums on a 63 million dollar cash grab called the 20/20 bond. Have Commissioners lie to the public(Hamburger and a cup of coffee my ass !) at "district" meetings. Ignore the suggestions of the people as to how to pay for infrastructure . (Who in the hell are we, anyway -oh just the people that have to cough up the money ).Let the city attorney and city manager embarrass Lake Worth by going after the Supervisor of elections and telling lies about her staff. Watch as the city attorney and city manager get their asses handed to them by the Supervisor of elections. Have a staff appointed ,unelected, secret board dictate what will happen at Lake Worth public beach. Then get mad at the citizens because they found out what was going on and kicked Dirty Szerdi out of office by a landslide. Watch Commissioner Scott Maxwell tell lie after lie as he rants and raves at the citizens he doesn't think he has to be accountable to . Mayor Pam Triolo has accomplished one thing very well. She has illustrated why she, Commissioner Maxwell and Commissioner Amoroso need to be kicked out of office.
Hudson Holdings proposals are wackadoodle..so is Mayor Pam for not recognizing why LW residents would be concerned. This is an acquisition corporation (which doesn't seem to have completed any project so far) that is buying up property in LW and is laying claim to desireable beachfront property.
What a bunch of idiots we have. Isn't there anybody decent that wants to be on the dais? These people have no business sense. LW is going to the slums. Pot holes everywhere and this bunch wants to throw another $100,000 away on another worthless to citizen study!!!! The beach is fine. If you actually consider the parking monies at the beach we are within the black.
Specific about the properties HH is buying up? Other than the Gulfstream they have been purchasing properties on S.Federal --I believe both Lynn and the LW Tribune posted the addresses. Plus they made moves to buy a couple of properties on Lake Ave but backed out. More specific about their projects --their web site lists 6 properties which are all drawings or existing buildings with drawings of future plans. Nothing is completed or as far as I can tell even in process. The only exception may be Linton Towers...but that is an exceptionally ugly building. I hope that is not example of their work.
Instead of taking potshots, anonymous at 8:37, give examples of where Commissioner Maier is clueless. Otherwise, your comment is just politics, BAD politics at that.

Pam won't like this. She can't take any satire when she is the subject. Great Photoshop.

Ryan M has no clue what he's talking about. This isn't a babysitting service. Either know what you're talking about or leave.
