Our Lake Worth beach - Hudson Holdings says it's totally confident they will get their hands on our beach

Comment Up
Hudson's Plan

The article in the Palm Beach Post says, "Two ideas are being eyed for boosting revenue at the complex, which was renovated in 2013 but doesn’t bring in enough money from retail tenants to service debt payments. One is a modest proposal: Bring in a Michigan company to build and lease a new restaurant in vacant upstairs space, plus run the ballroom space. The other idea, by a local developer, is much more grand: A $15 million expansion that will feature a private club, with its own pool and cabanas, adjacent to the casino building; a new city aquatic center featuring two new pools in place of the existing Olympic-sized pool; and land and building leases for everything."

And for all you naysayers out there who don't think this commission and city should be condemned for this ITN because nothing yet has been signed,  Read the article... and how Hudson Holdings wants to grab our beach and the city is making it easier for them to do it.

  2. The Commission borrowed the money from us. The commission CHOSE not to pay ITSELF BACK !!!
Does everyone out there understand that to date NOT ONE CITIZEN HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO SAY ONE WORD ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS AT OUR BEACH? This is TOTALLY shameful and inexcusable.
From what I've been told(the Mayor and Commission has not answered my question about this)STAFF put this ITN commission together and STAFF are the ones who thought up and brought this travesty into town in the first place. Who in the hell are STAFF to do ANYTHING like this?? They are EMPLOYEES who work for THE PEOPLE OF LAKE WORTH, not out of town questionable "developers" who see a fat ,stupid pigeon just waiting to be plucked !
The majority of people that found out about Hudson Holdings plans for the beach(in spite of the city manager's, majority Commission sand Mayor's efforts) are FURIOUS ! Didn't Ex-commissioner Szerdi's slaughter at the poles give these people a clue???
HH llc has owned the Gulfstream for one year have done NOTHING except let it turn into a rundown trash dump full of vagrants.Demolition by neglect anyone?
Hudson Holdings take after the Wizard of OZ- Big talk, put when you pull back the curtain- NOTHING TO SEE ! Katie Mcgiveron

  3. @7:55. There is NO fear mongering going on here. The city asked for a proposal and expansion of our casino complex. They asked for it. Now whether or not they will agree to it is another thing but the committee is willing to have taxpayers pick up the cost of a $100,000 dollar study to see exactly what Hudson can do. This is BS.
You can call it "fear-mongering" to be cute, but it is a very real possibility.

  4. we need people with money to improve this city and get it out of this dark criminal poor hole---yes anything to make it better--the people that don't want it put a pool with salt water in your yard--oh i forgot 50% are poor as hell--then fill you tube with epson salt and take a sip of kava and dream the dream

  5. Really don't know what you're talking about, anonymous @5:38. Do you want to SELL OUR CITY? Do you think it's ok to lose control of our casino for 20 years minus a day times 5? There is nothing wrong with the pool we have. What our problem is there--we don't have the people to maintain it. And why not?

  6. Nothing changes in Lake Worth. The town is now back in the hands of the developers and those corrupt people who support them. Why does this keep on happening?
