Lake Worth Trees

Comment Up

On April 21, the city will be asking that five Ficus trees at the Cultural Plaza be designated as historic. Never again will we have someone cut one down by "mistake" unless, of course, the city totally neglects it and allows it to die from disease.

Also in front of the commission is a proposal to adopt the Lake Worth Urban Forest Management Plan for the inventory of all trees located within the city of Lake Worth. The City Tree Board reviewed the Plan at its March 12, 2015 and April 9, 2015 meetings. The Board made minor revisions to the Plan and officially adopted the Plan with its revisions. City staff has reviewed the Plan and recommends adoption by the City.

  1. LOL you are kidding right historic!!! It's not like these are Redwoods that are over 200,300 or more years old. Got to Love the politics in Lake Worth. Are there not more important issues that the city is facing. Like some of your Fav's blight, crime, pot holes, rusty pipes. I can go on, and on, and on..........

  2. No doubt about it, anonymous, there are a lot of priorities in our city. However, protecting 100 year old trees is a good thing to do...better than chopping them down.
