The House voted 236-191 to approve the legislation, which funds the Homeland Security Department through the rest of the budget year to the tune of $40 billion. But as part of that bill, Republicans added provisions to gut the president’s immigration directives.
Despite deep Democratic opposition, the House voted 237-190 on an
amendment to undo the actions Obama announced in November that provide
temporary deportation relief, and offer work permits, to some 4 million
illegal immigrants.
Another amendment would cancel Obama’s 2012 policy that’s granted
work permits and stays of deportation to more than 600,000 immigrants
who arrived in the U.S. illegally as kids. That measure passed more
narrowly, 218-209, as more than two dozen Republicans joined Democrats
in opposition.

A lot of them just want to look tough on immigration, these Repubs and some dems. They know that Obama will veto it anyway. It might hurt them though or it might help them, time will tell.
ReplyDeleteI believe that they are earnest on what they feel about illegal immigration. As far as hurting them politically, only with socialistic Democrats and open border people who want to ruin our country. Every poll out there is against illegal immigration. And why not? People are not totally insane.
ReplyDeleteIt should have never be able to snowball out of control, the repubs are to blame to begin with back int he 80's when they wanted all this cheap labor for the big bus that demand it. Reagan is the one to blame for all of this crap to start with. It is out of control. God if they had to deport all illegals in Lake Worth, our population would decline by more than 10,000. That might be nice if that happened. The illegals are out of control here. It is like another country here, the city leaders and PBSO, nor ICE do anything about this lawlessness here.
ReplyDeleteThis is all on Obama's back. He has made the situation "triple" worse, if you will. A federal judge castigated the Obama administration in December, saying it was 'completing the criminal mission' of human traffickers. Just look at his policy. NO ONE is following the law and I hope, now that this is out of control, the Republicans can do something about all these illegals who live here thus taking back our country from alien criminals.
ReplyDeleteHellooo?? Anybody remember this thing called "an election" where the Democrats just got their azzes handed to them ?
ReplyDeleteIllegal immigration was a big problem under Bush, he was the one letting them all come here, they were here before Obama took over. Bush never did anything, he just encouraged them all to come. Why do people love to blame one person, Obama, for illegal immigration when it was way before his tenure. He is trying to solve the problem and do something, being a problem solver with compassion, unlike Bush who let them pour in and never do a thing, do you all recall about 6-10 years ago what it was like here in Lake Worth with all these drunk crazy illegals out of control in this city, it still is, but it was bad back in 2006. Our borders should be secure and we need to stop human trafficking.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have had illegal immigration for years. Past administrations have faltered and have not done the necessary job or sealed our borders. Obama, however, has exacerbated the problem.
