Channel 12(WPEC) does an excellent job reporting the news especially when it comes to Lake Worth. But this one is something that will affect all of Florida--
Recently, Bill Hager was re-elected to our state legislature. "He has been pushing for a Sober Home law but it failed in the Florida senate last year. Since sober homes are unregulated, there's no way to know exactly how
many are out there, but Hager believes laws need to be in place," says Channel 12.

A few days ago a drug rehab company/business signed a lease to rent office space in the same warehouses that have commercial business operating. Our business will share a wall with them. The warehouse manager said it was going to be a drug counseling facility for recovering drug addicts. I'm all for people getting their lives back together...but it worries me and the other business owners about things that might happen in and around our businesses. Our warehouses are located on 2nd Ave and Boutwell right across the street from all the new apartments that are being built. I wonder if the owner of the Drug Rehab facility knows something that we dont.
ReplyDeleteJust freaking wonderful! Lake Worth needs to be protected from this. After this affordable housing is built, this drug counseling facility will have a built-in business. All they will have to do is walk across the street. I'm serious. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for being worried.
City should just enforce its short term rental law and that would cut way down on sober homes.
