ACLU wins; Rick Scott loses

The ACLU is always looking out for the civil rights of all Americans, good, bad or in between. I don't always agree with them. The organization stepped into the fight against drug testing for all those who were enrolled in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to submit urine samples to prove they weren't on drugs. The ACLU sued and won in a federal court.

The State of Florida appealed the decision and just lost the appeal.  The 11th Circuit Court said that it was unconstitutional to make those on welfare take drug tests saying it violates the Fourth Amendment.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
