Tree Talk at the Lake Worth Library

Laurel Oak

Last night I attended an interesting Talk on Trees that was held at the Lake Worth Library and sponsored by the Tree Board. There was an enthusiastic audience of around 40-45 people consisting of residents, several neighborhood association presidents, various members of city boards and Dave McGrew our city's horticulturist. Refreshments were served.

There were three guest speakers who spoke for 30 minutes each:

Kristi Moyer is the Facility and Land Manager at Pine Jog Environmental Educational Center of Florida Atlantic University and Director at Large of the Florida Native Plant Society in Palm Beach county.

The next speaker was Jeff Nurge, the founder of Native Choice Nursery as well as the Publicity Chair of the Florida Native Plant Society in Palm Beach county.

The third speaker was Dennis De Zeeuw, the founder of SustainScape, Inc. and is a master horticulturist.
