Pointing at a divine Keylime cheesecake from my good friend, BarbaraJean.
Would the Pilgrims ever have imagined what our world would be like today? Religious freedom was so important to them and they still gave thanks to God at that first Thanksgiving day in 1621 in spite of all the death and hardships they endured. We enjoy so many blessings and take many for granted. We live in a great country, one in which gives us every opportunity imaginable to succeed and live a happy life in spite of our race, creed or gender. Lately, some people have forgotten that and have lost their way.
Is there any way that the every day person here can get anyone at city hall to answer an email? Phone call? Are these people above us. Are they working against us? Is that what they think? they are not on top of things here. That building where the shuffleboard courts are is an utter nightmare.
ReplyDeleteA very happy Thanksgiving to you Lynn... can you imagine if the Native Americans had treated the Pilgrims the same way we're treating those wanting to achieve a better life in the US today... Would we be celebrating Thanksgiving today...
ReplyDeleteComparing today to 1621, is a stretch to make your point, Manny. 54 pilgrims survived and now this country has 316 million people. We are now a nation of laws with Obama now making his own. We certainly have come a log way. But we still, thank God, have a legal process and all immigrants must respect that.
ReplyDeleteElections matter. So do our laws.To those in BOTH parties-be careful of what you wish for,you just might get it. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow Lake Worth Turkeys ! Lynn, save me a piece of that Cheesecake! Katie Mcgiveron
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous, Barbra Jean's cheesecake sounds delicious, can we order one?
And, by the way is that a gang hand signal you're sending? :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Donna and Tom
Thanks, friends--hope you both had a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteActually the "hand signal" was giving BarbaraJean the finger for 1) bringing over delicious but fattening cheesecake and 2)taking my photo with no make-up on and hair uncombed. But what the H!
Hey, what's this about Wes using all your photoshops?
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteYou still look gorgeous we both agree!
The old Tom's Page is still online, and Wes contacted me last spring asking if he could use some of the photos. As they are available to the public I said yes. Of course you are welcome to use them too!
Tom and Donna
p.s. Have you seen our new blog? Transylvaniabounty.com/
Thanks for sending link. Will go there.
ReplyDeleteGee, you are special--Wes has NEVER contacted me when he grabs photos and copy off MY blog. I wonder why that is.
Thanks so much Lynn for caring and loving this city so much. Happy Thanksgiving. I am grateful for you and your love for our city and giving us your high quality blog and providing a voice and outlet for citizens here to speak out. You and your blog are the best. God bless always!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the very sweet words above...they are much appreciated and far removed from some of the hideous stuff I get. I love that delete button. ;)
