Quote of the Day - John F. Kennedy

Comment Up
“The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society… We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it.”

~ John F. Kennedy, April 27, 1961

Thirty-eight national press organizations and transparency groups—including the Society for Professional Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Poynter Institute—called on the Obama administration to end 'politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies' in a letter to the White House that was released Tuesday, writes the Washington Free Beacon.

We see  pervasive "secrecy" and government's control of the press at all levels. Obama told us that his government was going to be the most transparent. Joel Simon, executive director of the CPJ said “There is a systematic effort to marginalize and undermine the work of the press."

On a local level, there is nothing we can do about personal opinion and the political spin or a commission that just wants its way regardless of the opposition or the outcome of an initiative. All we can do is expose it and/or vote them out. There can be two of us observing and listening to the same commissioners and walk away with a totally different message as evident by the two local blogs that dabble and write about local politics.

  1. Lynn, thank you for not allowing egos to get in the way of fair reporting. Even though I am a Democrat, I agree with you on many things.

  2. Thanks Lynn! I think the matter is a lot worse than we know and the media is not always finding out or exposing the truth about a lot from our government, often in bed with them along wiht big business. There are coverups in this country as they relate to:
    -UFO's and Aliens
    -man-made-viruses
-drugs and vitamins not being able to be used to "cure" diseases
-drug mafia allowing tons of drugs in the country having one of the highest rates of addition
-corrupt cops and law enforcement allowing tons of illegals and human trafficked in this country daily/yearly
-FDA in bed with big pharma putting tons of people on drugs for profits
-the list goes on and one, our government knows so much and allows to much of big business and corruption of drug mafia and petroleum mafia control the public for profits.
You need to question EVERYTHING today Lynn, everything. so much coverup and corruption all for profit, so many have died due to our government allowing so much control of things with big business. Someday the real truth will come out about ALL! So so sad!

  4. Not to mention the GMO foods that our government and FDA are playing with that are hurting all human beings health here. Go to:
    http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/are-biotech-foods-safe-to-eat

OUr government in the USA is put every human being at great health risks by allowing GMO Foods.

Right, how is it possible if we have a secure border in the USA that so many drugs are able to get into this country and be sold creating one of the highest levesl of drug addicts ever in the world? Is there really a drug mafia controled by the US government and overlooked by police allowing so many illegal drugs like herorin, marijuana, opium, meth, etc. to get into this country. Something like 5 in 7 teenagers use drugs today, our government is not doing enough about drug addictions in the USA.
