PBC has doubts about WPB national baseball stadium

Comment Up

And who wouldn't have doubts about investing all those millions?   The complex is estimated to cost $140,000 million with the county contributing $90 million from bed tax.  The teams want an escalator clause that will generate $65 million more off the backs of taxpayers.

The economic benefits of having national league baseball are usually exaggerated and one-sided in favor of the teams. Palm Beach County's Administrator, Bob Wiseman, is not taking any curve balls when it comes to this bad deal.

  1. There's a REASON that no other county on the entire east coast of Florida ,other than Palm beach County (idiotville), wants to give away millions to Billionaires ! Our Commissioners here in Lake Worth had 3,200,000 reasons to push for the 20/20 bond to pass. Just what was in it for them to push a baseball stadium in the middle of JPP?

  2. OMG, Lynn have you heard John Prince Park is back in the running for the New Stadium.
I just heard it on the news, seems West Palm Beach got a substantial offer on the land, and the County Commission has said if they sell, and get the Stadium in JPP it would be a Win/Win for Everyone.

  4. Isn't PBC raising taxes to pay for the stadium? I'm sure Katie's and Dennis will be going to the PBC Commission meetings to protest these unfair taxes, right?

  5. Right now, the county and WPB are playing games and the corporate owners are as well. Any county spending that kind of money would need their head examined. Thank God for a responsible county administrator who has told them the facts, other than his JPP reference, of course.

  6. Instead of your stupid silly sarcasm, just admit it at 10:40--you can't stand that a handful of people beat you. You should be thanking them for saving you 30 years of taxes. now the city might come back with an affordable scheme.
