New Lake Worth utility bill

Comment Up

Has anyone seen the new utility bill format yet?  Unbelievable.  There was NOTHING wrong with the old format.  In fact, it was better. We were supposed to have a bill that compared in style to FPL's. (We are always comparing everything to FPL). How do you compare a municipal utility with one owned by a billion dollar conglomerate?  Why change things that are NOT broken.  What did this idea cost the rate payers?

On top of all of Lake Worth's problems, the total does not add up correctly...this time it is in the consumer's favor.  Obviously someone programmed the calculations WRONG. I have a call into the Electric Utility.

  1. I was in line at the electric dept yesterday and told everyone who would listen that there was a NEW (TAX) charge coming and everyone here would pay an extra $2 per transaction! They were peeved! An Extra "FEE" for service that they are already paid to perform! Nickeling & Diming US to death!

    Really?

Tell me again how they are lowering our electric rates but increasing every other cost?

Do they really believe we are this stupid or are incapable of doing the math?

Pirates aren't known for 'smarts' but thievery! Looks like it applies here! "Poker Tell"!

  2. When you "told everyone who would listen" about this new charge, did you say it would apply to everyone? If so, that was incorrect.

  4. Just heard back from my favorite person, Joel Rutsky, who explained that there was a glitch in the billing and it will all be corrected by next month's bill. It only affected those accounts that have separate meters for irrigation and the building. Somehow they double charged fees on irrigation but the total on this bill is correct. The double charge got backed-out but was only reflected in their total, not in the summary. GET IT?

  6. Hey Mayor Triolo, are you going to hold a special Bitc$ and whine session with unlimited speaker time in city hall for all of the utility customers to complain about how their electric bill was fouled up ???? Mr. Timm don't you dare go up front and try to talk about your SEWER rates ! You might get shot !!!

  7. The fee will apply to everyone that was in the line paying in person! So it was a true statement - do you read the back up - must not because it was there - read it then correct me w/the page number or keep your pretend corrections to yourself! Thanks!

  8. I have been investigating my electric bill in comparison to my former FPL bills and those bills of friends and homes of even larger size , I have come to the conclusion the LWU is double dipping on the fuel FEE , I have pla, springs water and on,y LWU utilities , last month my bill was 422 for an 1800 square foot house with ac set to 78 and most days OFF due to cooler weather . I am looking to get a task force and consumer complaint going perhaps in a class action suit of some sort .

  9. This is such an old blog...no one will see your comment. Let me know if you go forward with your plans. The fuel charge is high right now.
