Dear Commission on Ethics:
Mr. Charles Wesley Blackman, Chair of the Historic Preservation Board for Lake Worth and Board Member of the Homeowners Association for College Park has continually and unethically defamed and slandered our Neighborhood Association and the people that live here. His address is 241 Columbia Avenue, Lake Worth, FL 33460 as per public record. One posting in question is below on this email.
As a representative of the City of Lake Worth on a
Board and Representing the HOA of College Park located in the City of Lake
Worth, he is utilizing his blog in such a way that has to be a breach of
ethics.
One, our meeting schedule has always been listed as the
second Tuesday starting in January and thus every other month there
after. He has now dragged the NAPC, a respected organization within the
City of Lake Worth into his latest words of slander. The NAPC has always
known our schedule and if they have not chosen to list it on the Calendar they
simply need to read our meeting schedule on their site that has been the
same schedule for many years.
We advertise our meetings via Email,
Nextdoor.com, signs and flyer distribution all of which were done and
have always been done for each of our meetings.
Second, as our Mayor, Pam Triolo asked the people to come
together and find common ground, one of the commissions' biggest supporters
continues to use negative attacks on neighborhoods other than his own (neighborhood) while
again representing a City Board and the great people of College Park. I,
for the life of me, can not understand why the City would allow a member of
their own board to cast this shadow of darkness upon the city and its citizens.
We sincerely ask that these actions be reviewed by the
Commission on Ethics and we also sincerely ask that the City of Lake Worth understand that this continued slander against the Great People of
Residences of Lake Osborne be stopped by their own representative of the
Historic Preservation Board.
This is no longer about gossip and "opinion" it is
straight out a breach on ethical behavior and we sincerely believe he should no
longer be a representative of the City or a neighborhood. Let it be known
as per this Email the Mr. Charles Wesley Blackman is and always from this day
forward, not be allowed to attend any of our meetings and we will find out via
our PBSO partners as to what we need to file to ensure that this is taken care
of.
Please advise us of what appropriate paper work we should
file. We will also seek out a legal opinion and if a case is warranted we
will have to consider legal action toward stopping these actions going
forward.
Copied on this email is the ROLO Board Members, City of Lake
Worth Commission and City Manager, President of College Park and Chair of
the NAPC. The Residences of Lake Osborne reserve the right to share this
communication as a matter of public record.

Stealth meeting in Lake Worth last Tuesday?
There was a ROLO (Residents of Lake Osborne) meeting last
Tuesday at the Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church. Curiously the only public
mention of the meeting is the graphic shown here. The meeting is not listed on
the NAPC calendar, nothing in print (i.e., the Lake Worth Herald), no yard
signs, and even the ROLO didn't mention the meeting on their
own website.
The president of ROLO is Robert Waples and the treasurer is Katie Mcgiveron. Maybe they'll post some pictures of the meeting with some explanation of what was discussed and who was in attendance?
Also curious, why would ROLO schedule the meeting on Tuesday during a city commission meeting? The commissioner who represents ROLO, Scott Maxwell, wouldn't be able to attend. Was this done on purpose to exclude the commissioner from attending?

Mr. CWB--I would appreciate it very much if you would cease plagiarizing--copying graphics and complete copy off my blog, copying other snippets of information without referencing the entire article, attributing written information as written by me when it has been referenced either in a quote or a link to the article from which it came, taking things out of context and posting them on your blog. You continue to do this and it is a violation of Google policy. Please write your own blog. Thanks very much.
ReplyDeleteI agree Lynn! You could probably cancel your subscription to the PB Post and just read his blog. He is always just copying articles from this paper and other sources. Can't seem to get his own journalism.
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered about several of these people that are on Boards within the City. He is one of several that are very aggressvie in their opinions and if a citizen were to have to go before them for an issue, you would be paranoid as to their actions. Much of this would be experincing the wrath of their behaviour when you simplly have a different opinion. I believe that we need to call these people out that are on Boards and not behaving ethically. Wes is one of several.
Dear Pinkie -
ReplyDeleteYou don't write everything on your blog. You support a PAC that took snippets of a PB Post editorial and send it to residents throughout LW. If you don't want something from your blog copied, then don't put it up there. Of course you don't volunteer in your City, you just complain!
Signed by a resident of LW and friend of CWB
Well, now we have another person putting down this blogger with a name originated on the other blog. Cute. Well, the point here, anonymous, who is too cowardly to use his real name, is that snippets are ok IF you reference the entire article or the source. The other blogger took the entire piece referenced in this blog off my blog. He has taken original graphics off my blog without permission. Some graphics are in the public domain or impossible to find its creator. That is NOT the case with mine that he quickly snatches.
ReplyDeleteOn volunteering, I do plenty in my own neighborhood. Thanks for worrying so much about what I do or don't do.
Wes strives on sensationalism and the conspiracy theory in his attempt to discredit. One sorry person. He is jumping at straws in his mission to bring good people down. It is obvious that his hate for this NA is because of JPP and the LW2020 opposition of Katie Mcgiveron. Anyone is welcomed to attend a meeting at ROLO. Their meeting dates are consistent. The commission meeting dates are not.
ReplyDeleteLynn, this comment from you blog is very germane to a greater issue of people on boards in this city. The city and Ethic committee should not let people like this on any city boards. This guy or the one that is on a board who cannot even clean up his property at 1306 and 1320 Lucernce Ave. Hi property is all boarded up and overgrown, a real eyesore, yet is on a board influencing and making decisions in our city, but is a bad example himself of how to keep his property up, forcing others to have to live in front of it and see this mess. Why do the elected select poor examples like wes and rice to be on boards when they are not ethical and are bad examples for good citizenship in Lake Worth? Do they think anyone really respects them?

I have never heard Wes say he "hates", or read that. Why does everyone dance around the issues. You allowing those vicious comments from a woman on No. Lakeside. People will not forget that. Katies profane rants and waples behind the back style are just thought of as immature.
ReplyDeleteI just clicked on that link to Wes' site, I am now reminded why I never go to his nasty blog, will he ever change? Is it because he lives in College Park that he behaves this way? I agree with you Lynn, not professional or ethical and needs to be called on the carpet, they city should not allow this guy on any city board, his blog is so hateful and evil. Why do the rich think they can treat others the way they do in this city?
ReplyDeleteI take issue with the friend of cwb for attacking anyone who doesn't do volunteer work for the city. For one, you are doing more than your part for what infomation you give the public that the other side doesn't want to get out. This is a great service in the media world as we are overwhelmed with so much slanted news. I don't vounteer in LW and have lived her a majority of my life. I feel I do enough by supporting local blusiness, paying taxes. Who ever would be so judgemental on volunteerism??????? Many cannot or are to busy, or just plain don't want to. Does that make me a BAD person???? I don't believe so but the judgmental people who like to suppress free press probably do!
ReplyDeleteAnon @1:38. He doesn't have to say that he "hates." What you read there and the style, oozes with venom. As a board member, he is a representative of the city and therefore his conduct should be held to a higher scrutiny. It isn't. He is under the protection of the worst city commission ever that also believes it is above common ethics.
ReplyDeleteI agree with one of these last posters about volunteering. I think people who volunteer to help seniors at the senior center or helping a shut-in from church or just keeping up your own property and being a good law abiding citizen voting and participating the best they can is nice to do if you can. You are helping and caring and taking care of others and your community and property. Unfortunately, the elected or those appointed to boards believe that their volunteer work makes them above the law and they abuse their power. Instead they should be better examples of citizens and be ethical and take care of their property better themselves. Bottom line is it is all about respect and people like wes and rice are not showing respect toward Lake Worth citizens as a whole by their actions.
ReplyDeleteWell, most of those need to volunteer to make them feel better about themselves as they are so horrible to the human who disagrees with them. It doesn't make them a better person, but perhaps they feel better. NO EXCUSE!
ReplyDeleteMany of the people who volunteer to serve on our city boards have other motives for doing so, not for really helping the city, they are self serving to get what they want and have clout. clemens was another one of those and now look where he is, moving on up and using and abusing their power in those positions, always other real reasons why most want to volunteer to serve on those boards, the truth usually does come out.
ReplyDelete2:19 is spot on! So true.
ReplyDeleteYes.....I beleive we do need to make an example of the hypocrites who serve on City Boards like slum lord Greg Rice. Someone needs to get this type of info to the media outlets with pic proof of these occurences and it will expose why LW is stuck in poverty.
ReplyDeleteRice uses and abuses his power so much that maybe it finally caught up to him. His 1320 Lucerne building has a big pink code paper on it, it has so many times before though and never really ever gets addressed, gee, I wonder why. The place today looks like hell, all overgrown, boarded up, and trashed completely, why are slum lords like rice allowed to keep his place this way, time after time, cited, yet, back to bad shape again, time and time again, it is sinful. Why doesn't he make his places look better, how will he ever be truly respected for an owner? Drive by 1306 and 1320 Lucerne and see for yourself what an eyesore they are, I feel sorry for all of us who live in front of this dump.
ReplyDeleteLynn, what is the deal with rice, I thought you went to school with him? Why can't he make his properties look nice? Why is he exempt from city codes and keeping things looking nicer? You would think that someone of his status would not want all to think he is a slumlord pig?
ReplyDeleteWow Lynn and her followers are the best. They believe posting graphics of people burning or bullets with names of LW residents is ethical and respectful. They praise Lynn for her stellar blogging of the "truth." They know she is always right. Let's hear that cheer now - all hail Lynn!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea about Mr. Rice or where he went to school. He is years younger than I. His building has been painted and looks much better.
ReplyDelete@8:18--the graphic was of a photo burning...not a body. Get that yet? The bullets are, oh what's the use. You guys are too damn s&^%$( to continue on with this. :) Call PBSO. :)
ReplyDeleteLynn, you are crazy if you think the new sloppily painted beige 1306 Lucerne building looks nice, a bad paint job, then the white 1320 Lucerne is white, both all boarded up and over grown all trashed, if this is nice or looks better, you are just as bad as rice, these properties have been bringing down the entire west side of downtown for years. Why is a slum owner allowed to serve on a city board? You are too kind and generous with greg rice and his slum, you complain about blight all the time and if you think his places look good you are crazy!
ReplyDeleteWow. Bunch of dorks that attend these workshops and council meetings. My advise, get out of the country and expand your horizons, get laid, have a drink a smoke. I've read these local yahoo blogs fir the past 3 or so years and it's the same junk, cavers vs
ReplyDeletepavers, developer whores blah blah. The majority of people in my neighborhood are good people and don't give a fuct what goes on at city hall because it's a freak show. Both sides have way to much time to waste, don't you people work, raise children, look after your elder relatives? Y'all are the reason lake worth is a crap hole, been one for 40 years, be one forever!
Anonymous 30 year L-Dub property owner
Aon at 8:18- read the Lake Worth Chronicles. The bullets might start to make some sense,,,, Probably not.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you @9:39 about the majority of people being good. It is that small and powerful and wealthy group that we are talking about.
ReplyDeleteNo, don't work--retired. Too old for raising children. Elder relatives all deceased.
The reason why we are a "crap" hole is basically the federal government that allowed illegals to cross our border and become a total drag. We allowed this government to play games with hand-outs. The financial institutions crashed our economy thanks to the feds. In this city, they brought their culture too and what we have now is slum, blight and a whole lot of crime. Gang bangers found us and are still here. The commission voted in more low cost housing and spent $23 million more to attract poor working folks who gave a little sweat equity. And then they want 34% of the wealthier to pay to fix an entire city's roads. After that's all done, the city will still be a "crap" hole as you put it.
Stay disengaged as you seem to want to do. That's a right you have too but at least understand the issues and the people making decisions for us. Most responsible people in this country look at our roaring debt and the lack of respect we have throughout the world and want to change that. With nearly half the population on some sort of government hand-out, we are in big trouble...no jobs and people having child after child to get more welfare. It's a mess.
LOL. There are some people in this city who will agree with you that I am "crazy." The head of the NAPC calls me a "sociopath." She should know.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the buildings on Lucerne, they have been a problem for attracting graffiti for years. PAPA gives them value and because they are not falling down, I would suppose Code can't do much.
The only time that Scott MAxwell ever came to a meeting was when he was pushing for John prince Park to become a national ball field stadium right across from where we live. It is nothing more than politics with that guy and when he wants to bully people. Wes is really grasping at straws all in the name of character assassination. He is attempting to throw doubt on good people to please his political bosses. How sad. What a total fool and tool.
ReplyDeleteThe same 3 people that are commenting over and over are either very confused or don't have a firm grasp on reality. Wes wealthy? Mary Lindsey wealthy?
ReplyDeleteSo I guess when you can't beat someone you just keep making up stories. At least make them good.
I have always read both blogs, as I used to find information from both even if I didn't agree with everything on either blog. I think it is sad that both blogs have devolved into petty fights, but Wes' blog is certainly worse. Just about every post is about this blog or about some other enemy.
ReplyDeleteI do think there is a conflict of interest between his very vocal statements regarding the height amendment and his position on the historic board. Maybe I'm wrong but it would seem better to remain neutral on such a topic. Indeed it would seem better to remain neutral on city politics in general, otherwise how does one know if one's position on these topics will be held against him or her if they come before a board?
John Rinaldi, chair if the Planning & Zoning Board, certainly wasn't quiet on the bond referendum. So you have the same stance on his comments and actions, right?
ReplyDeleteHopefully Mr. Waples will see your post, anonymous at 2:18. In actuality it has nothing to do with CWB's stand on the vote. Please re-read the complaint.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, Mr. Rinaldi's actions were proper at all times. No one said that you can't have an opinion or you can't express it if you are a member of a board.
I've been aiming to buy a historic cottage to fix up but am very concerned about appearing before the historic preservation committee for a roof permit, fence permit, everything, as I believe Wes Blackman knows I have been on the other side on the heights amendment and on LW2020 and... given the awful things he says about those who disagree with him....I don't think I would get fair treatment. I fear a nightmare scenario where I'm in limbo with a house I've poured my savings into, and can't restore all the way because Wes wants to punish me. There is a great deal that is left to the discernment of the board, so it will be hard to know. But I do strongly feel that I will not receive a fair hearing -- given the chair's level of anger and hate aimed at those who disagree with him on development. I believe a hearing before the PB County Ethics Commission on the issue of this person must take place very soon. This cannot go on any longer. Wes Blackman cannot remain a member of the historic preservation board, much less its head.
ReplyDelete11:14, chill out! I think your brain is in limbo. I can tell you that your whole scenario is made up. But heh you got your weepy b.s. rant off your chest.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 11:14 - I am trying to renovate my non-historic home and I am afraid to go before the P&Z Board. I supported the referendum and I am concerned that John Rinaldi will hold that against me. I'm also a business owner here and we are trying to make some changes but again we will have to face the P&Z.
ReplyDelete@12:51...as stated previously, Mr. Rinaldi took a position opposing the bond and stated his reasons. He did NOT personally attack people who held a different view or hold them up to ridicule. That IS the difference. Hope you get it.
