What will city do to maintain roads?
In 2002, Flagler Drive was completely rebuilt from the roadbed up. It was silky smooth. 12 years later, its surface resembles a mottled and irregular washboard.
Lake
Worth wants to put us into debt for more than 30 years, spending $35
million of the $63 million bond on road repair, which we can expect to
last a similar period.
What does this commission plan for 12 years
from now when the roads will again need replacement and our taxpayers
are still saddled with another 20-plus years of paying off this huge
debt?
DEE MCNAMARA

this money will all be gone in 5 years. 7 years after that date, the roads will have to be redone again. This is one sick joke on the people.
ReplyDeletewhat they should have done:
1. go out on a $20 mil bond just for our worst roads and infrastructure.
2. let our property values rebound over the next 5 years when our treasury will have much more money.
3. Incorporate more into the streets maintenance budget
4. Repair the potholes the right way.
5. Stop the spending. Stop the free lunch. Stop the travel. Stop all of the frivolous. Lead by example.
I see that you are against the bond. That is smart. Your argument might be to ask where is the $15 million in bond monies that was supposed to go toward the electric upgrade? If they can explain where the money has gone, and then explain why Clay's has been unable to do any of the glorified upgrade he personally promised several years ago, then your mind might be changed. Until then they are pissing in the wind as you have seen this all before and it has ended badly.
ReplyDeleteOut of Towner--Thanks for your comment and your question on the "missing" money. Actually I have asked that question. Where is ALL of the "missing" money not just the money that they never mention that is supposedly unaccounted for in the 2004 bond.
ReplyDeleteNO TRUST; NO BOND
My question s who wrote this for Dee, much to coherent for it to ave been written by her.
ReplyDeleteFinally someone has been retained to edit Dee's posts! Thank you!!! I now can understand what she at least means to say.
ReplyDeleteDee speaks about 9 languages and as such, gets thoughts and expressions mixed up at times. However, her truths are certain.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 12:54- smoke and mirrors. Attack the writer, not the content. Dee hit the nail on the head. This is just one more sad chapter in Lake Worth's history of ripping off the citizens and disappearing money.
