The Desperation - City of Lake Worth

Comment Up

Boy, was I ever inundated with campaign literature from the City of Lake Worth today.  Not only did I get the Lake Worth Herald with the typical "love it or leave it" editorial message but it had a full-page political advertisement on the back page touting this money grab. I also received another newspaper, a flyer with cute little houses on it and one with a marquee announcing the propaganda presentation that will be at the Lake Worth Playhouse.

This is overkill. and just think--you taxpayers are paying for all of it--all $50,000.00 of it.  Something really wrong about that picture. Soon we will be seeing a full page spread in the Palm Beach Post. God only knows what else is coming our way.  You can see the city's desperation.

  1. Hopefully people will see through this campaign of the city's and reject it out of hand. Onward to defeat on Aug 26.

  2. It is really upsetting to see my tax dollars used to try and get me to vote to raise my taxes.

I just threw the City's mailer away, but a neighbor said she and her husband studied it and that there was not one word about how the bod will be paid for. Its just being presented, somewhat, as free money.

  3. That's a lie. The explanation that the bond was going to be paid for by property taxes based on the assessed value was right on the flier. Desperate people resort to lying.

  4. Just remember that if the bond does not pass, taxes will go up and those taxes will go into the General fund, that can be used for anything ( not just roads, and infrastructure.). At least with the bond, the money that the ycity receives through the bond will only be used for infrastructure by the wording of the Covenance. No
Commission will be able to change it to line their pockets.

  5. The numbers put out by the city keep changing ! The really scary thing is that there is no cap to this thing ! And the numbers being given out to the people that show up to see how much they are going to pay are only for the FIRST YEAR, but that is not explained by city staff. SLEAZY is the word that best describes the city's actions.NO trust-No bond !
