Historic Resource Preservation Board

Comment Up

We talked about board appointments the other day and it seems that Wes Blackman's re-appointment slipped through the proverbial City of Lake Worth crack??--

At the July 16th HRPB meeting at the end of the meeting during Board Comments (audio is on the city website) Wes Blackman says he is concerned because his term is up July 31st, 2014 and the City Commission does not have a meeting till Aug 19th.

On tonight's consent agenda are the re-appointments and appointments to the various boards. He is not among them. Yet now on the city website his term has been extended to July 31st 2017. Poof--just like that!

Re-appointments are not automatic as shown by the consent agenda item tonight of re-appointments. Who reappointed him without a vote by the city commission? Perhaps there is another "amended" agenda? Maybe Blackman's eyes had deceived him and he was simply mistaken about when his term ended or he has already been re-appointed? Or perhaps ignoring protocol for one of the good ole political boys for a job well-done is the standard for this commission?

  1. Sick! This man is prejudiced and has no business being on any city board. He is not impartial and will cause the city many lawsuits.

  2. I do not know how anyone can now respect the city leaders or Wes, I will not vote for the referendum, nor support this move to extend his appointment to 2017. It is sad we do not have more educated and and ethical people on these boards and running this city. There is no ethics here. Wes has a sick blog attacking people and is just so vile, I just do not understand our our leaders allow a man with such a disgusting website and the way he talks and treats people to be on a city board. Lake Worth citizens deserve better than this. How sad!

  3. Anyone ask Wes how that happened?

    "...reappointed...without
    a vote by...city commission?"

Extended till 2017 and there is no appointment info recorded!

So he was NOT a legal board member at the last meeting 8.13.14 -
    Does that make every decision,
    "Null and Void"?

  4. It's the corruption. It's everywhere. There is not one honest person in Lake Worth city hall. When is someone going to call the state attorney or the FBI to start an investigation? Who is going to step up and start the process? We can get rid of all of them including Wes who is the most corrupt and should not have been reappointed. I wonder who he paid off? Maybe he promised to promote the 2020 bond for the city if they reappointed him. He must be getting kickbacks from developers that he kicks back to the commissioners that appointed him. I'm sure Commission Mcvoy didn't appoint Wes. We need more transparent commissioners like Dr. Mcvoy.

  5. As it turns out, Blackman didn't even know that he had been re-appointed in the beginning of July by Amoroso. That is the problem when everything is shuffled over to Consent with NO discussion.

  6. Anyone that has a vote against sign in their yard and is turned down by the historic board = instant winning lawsuit against the city of Lake Worth. Thank you Wes Blackman.
