Representatives of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals are
focusing their pursuit of a shared spring training baseball complex on
the 160 acres south of 45th Street between Haverhill Road and Military
Trail....City Commissioner Shanon Materio said today that before she decides on anything, she wants to see all the dollar figures. “The hard thing about baseball,” she said, “is quantifying what it brings to the city.” Commissioner Materio is correctly addressing this possible venture.
I guess the next time we see Scott Maxwell with his bat it might be up near 45th Street.
