On the Consent Agenda

Comment Up

On Tuesday night, there is a total of  12 items on the Consent Agenda. Not much has to be discussed any more with this administration. This should get them out of the chamber long before The O'Reilly Factor starts. No longer are there interviews for volunteer board members...takes way too much commission time to be bothered with that and besides, why would the public want to know or meet these people--some who make quasi-judicial decisions and one who is also part of the good ole boy network.

NEW TROLLEY

The City intends to submit an application requesting up to $1,650,000 in the 2014 Application Cycle of the Categorical Funding Program for funding that will become available during Fiscal Years 2016 - 2020 for implementation of a new trolley service over a three-year period in an area bounded by the Lake Worth Beach to the east, 10th Avenue North to the north, Palm Beach State College to the west and 6th Avenue South to the south. This proposed project is eligible under the “Transit Improvements” category. The deadline to submit a proposal is July 11, 2014, and the actual amount of funding to be requested has not yet been determined. No cash or in/kind services match is required of the City for this funding. Perhaps if we get it we can call it, once again, Lolly the Trolley.

  3. I don't recall Cara's boyfriend speaking that much at city hall. Whenever he did speak, rare as it was, he always was polite and well spoken. It was all of you who kicked good people to their knees when they disagreed with you. Freedom of speech and all that jazz is non-existent with some. You had so many stupid fears that it wasn't funny.

What's painful is having to get spoken down to meeting after meeting and banty roosters applauding it all...

  4. What "THE TERRIBLE,FRIGHTENING,ANARCHIST-OH-NO!!!" Cara Jennings NEVER did was to crap-can an entire ,legally appointed board of citizen volunteers to get rid of ONE PERSON on the board that she did not like.Mayor Pam Triolo, Commissioner Scott Maxwell, Commissioner Andy Amaroso and Commissioner John Szerdi kicked a whole board to the curb. Then Pam Triolo got her big girl panties into a twist because those citizens kicked in the azz did not come crawling back on their bellies to the commission to BEG to donate countless hours of their time once again.

  7. I am not attacking, sarcastic or profane. Just stating the obvious. The comm. could care less about what this blog thinks or the commenters for that matter. The city is tired and collapsing in blight. We have had decades of bad management. This comm. is doing the correct things to turn this city around. They inherited a mess and they are going to clean it up regardless of what you or your friends write.

  8. This commission "inherited" a city that was in the black. Now that they have been in power, it is back in the RED.

I realize that this commission does not care what the people think. We won an election on downtown heights and they could have honored the results--they didn't. I will never let anyone forget that either no matter whether they or you give a hot damn what I write or what I think.

No one comes to city commission meetings any more. Waste of time. It's just a matter of time. it will change.
