Comment Up

NEW DECALS CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR LANTANA RESIDENTS ONLY.

Come to Town Hall during normal business hours with your vehicle registration, drivers license, and $37.10 (includes sales tax).  If you are unable to come in, please mail a copy of your registration and drivers license.  Enclose check or money order for $37.10 (includes sales tax), a self addressed stamped envelope, and a completed Parking Decal Application.

Your license must have your correct address, and the registration must be in your name.  Decals are valid from the day you purchase until September 30, 2014.  New decals are currently available.  Non-residents have the ability to pay for parking at the meters.

So, if you have a Florida driver's license showing a Lantana address and a vehicle registered in the State of Florida, you get a beach decal in Lantana...simple and succinct and fair.

  1. Lake Worth tries to be fair to all those who break the law erecting illegal banners and such. They were really fair when they called the election irrelevant because of some drummed up state law that they applied. This commission is only interested in what money they can generate from their decisions, not the people they serve.

  2. @10:14, your comments are off point and garbled. the commission is trying to generate dollars for the people they serve. their is no proof the decisions they make personally enriches themselves, which seems to be what you are implying.remember lynns posts are most always critical of this commission and she searches for any city which does it different.

  3. I didn't have to search very far...former place of employment of our current CM. I stand by my convictions.

Fair is fair anonymous and our commission did not think this through very well. It's Szerdi's baby and he angered a lot of folks whether he knows it or not.

  4. Is Lantana taking county money for the beach parking lot redo or are they paying for it themselves?

  5. First of all and again, the County bond money is money that we have been paying on for years. It was allotted to us to use on our beach and nearly taken away by Burt Aaronson because we weren't moving fast enough for him.

Lantana has nothing whatsoever to do with the bond proceeds. This blog was about beach parking decals regardless of bond money.

  6. Well the parking system at the LW beach was changed due to the County bond money that we took for this project. Makes sense that someone would ask if Lantana had taken county money but had not been required to change their parking sticker rules.

  7. There were a few idiots parking in the decal spots on Mem Day. The fine isn't high enough to keep them away on busy days like this. It should double to $50. We have the best beach around. There is no parking in Lantana and they have a lousy beach.

  9. I am a resident of Lake Worth, but I do not plan to enter into the "parking lottery". Isn't that what Lake Worth City manager Mike Bornstein called it ? I pay the same amount on a membership to Macarthur state park. The distance is further, but the benefits ( Guaranteed parking vs. no parking left for my family in the tiny resident lot now filled with non-residents thanks to Commissioner Szerdi, free kayak rental for members, nature trails, beautiful nature center and gift shop, ranger led programs,no low life gang bangers and their rude baby mamas) far outweigh a couple of extra minutes in the car.Oh, and the rude Frenchies are too cheap to pay the five bucks for a non member to get in. Another plus.

  10. Lantana has a great city manager that understands the meaning of the word "resident".

  13. Supporting and enjoying the beautiful beach at Macarthur state park is not "cutting off my nose to spite my face". Although that is just what might happen to someone at Lake Worth beach if they look sideways at some gang bangers girl friend pouring out of a bathing suit five sizes too small for her.Enjoy fighting for the parking lot crumbs that Szerdi has left you with.
