Hmmm, wonder why these guys put every thing in terms of food ? Anyway, how insulting. We here in Lake Worth already pay the highest taxes around. The problem is not enough money coming into Lake Worth. It is the management and squandering of the money that we already have on shiny objects by Scott Maxwell and the rest of this commission.NO MORE MONEY FOR YOU ! Maxwell, it's time to tighten your belt. Time to get by on what you have, not what you want. We little peons out here have to live within our means. Now we're demanding that you , Maxwell, do the same!
Maxwell, it's time you go on a diet. A money diet. You can't have any more of our money. This city has plenty of money coming in from our already ridiculously high taxes. The problem is management of that money and the way it is wasted on shiny objects by this commission. We the people have to live within our means , Now it's time that Maxwell and the city do the same.
City staff says they have the math wrong. It's not a cup of coffee. It's a frappacino with some biscottis on the side. I NEVER buy these iced/frozen coffees. I cannot afford them. If I'm at Starbucks I'm drinking a plain old coffee from the tap. Time to introduce some fiscal discipline Lake Worth. And time to draw up a road-paving schedule. Pave a few roads each year and pay for it out of the money you have.
These graphics are so disingenuous. Since only 30% of properties in LW pay City of LW taxes, that is one expensive hamburger we end up paying for.
I guess, I shouldn't be surprised, but these kinds of 5th grade education graphics which are completely untruthful really are pissing me off.
Look, you want $60 million, at least be honest. If I were in charge of this campaign, I would have 2/3 of the room stand up and say, this won't cost you a dime so you should vote for it. Then I would have the other 1/3 of the room stand up and say, you are on the hook suckers, the other 2/3 will vote yes for this since they've got no reason not too, since it won't cost them a thing.
Lynn, most people know that you edit out comments critical of your style no matter how honest they are. So really just call this blog the world according to Lynn and a few cohorts. Now thats honest and will not get posted.
Sorry anonymous--I do not post comments that are personal attacks against this blogger. If you have anything reasonable to say, say it...if not...go away. Thanks. That's the problems in this city--a bunch of you believe it is ok to attack people. Read the policy.
And this IS the world according to me--my blog---makes sense, no? Do you really think I would allow you to use my blog to attack me? You must be kidding.
All the ass kissers are on the other blog. It is really sickening to see that little group of self-serving losers building up their own pathetic egos at the expense of others. They all should take a long walk off a short pier. That's my contribution for the day and I'm stickin to it. Now I have to get back to my Wall Street Journal. Ya'll have a very nice evening.
We don't pay taxes MONTHLY!!!!!!!!!! I believe they think we are so stupid that we might not realize we have to multiply these "so called food cost estimates" by 12 to know what our tax bill will be. Besides are they talking a Wendys burger or The Breakers?.LOL
This will really hurt the business community which is not homesteaded. Just look at all the empty stores and the mess on Dixie Highway. The last thing we need is to be known as the city with the highest commercial utility rates and the highest real estate taxes. That's nuts.
Excellent point. On one hand, this commission says it is "business friendly" and wants to do everything within its power to attract business and then....

ReplyDeleteYeah, the Lake Worth Herald said that we all should buy into this idea and commit to 30 years of debt.

ReplyDeleteThey need to throw the LW city commission into the category of animals who eat their own.
