We're all going to pot

Comment Up
Jeff Clemens really does believe in the powers of medical marijuana. If all goes as planned, organizers say medical marijuana will be dispensed as early as the summer of 2015 and believe this industry will be mainstream in the next 5 to 10 years. We have a perfect spot to grow it--our landfill. Just think, no one there will ever complain again about fumes, etc--they will all be too high.

Jeff can't wait for the election in 2014 as he "unveiled the Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act, Bill 859, on Monday, rolling out a narrower framework for a medical marijuana program in the state."

  1. I bet jeff actually even still smokes pot, since he is in a band, and so many do drugs these days. He has to be or was a big pot head without doubt. You are right Lynn, we have gone to pot, very sad we have these people as our leaders making bills like this. I would never vote for clemens again, one of the worst in our area.

  2. “The amount of money and of legal energy being given to prosecute hundreds of thousands of Americans who are caught with a few ounces of marijuana in their jeans simply makes no sense - the kindest way to put it. A sterner way to put it is that it is an outrage, an imposition on basic civil liberties and on the reasonable expenditure of social energy.”

  3. Legalize It, Don't criticize itFebruary 12, 2014 at 10:31 AM

Alcohol is legal, but does that make us all drunks? So your logic isn't support by fact.

And to say smoking makes everyone stupid, worthless, and lazy isn't supported by facts or medical evidence either. If you only knew how many very intelligent, successful, and accomplished people enjoy a toke once in a while, you might change your opinion (if that's possible).

  4. It might very well have to do with the reason this country is in such sorry shape. Pretty soon they will be dispensing free "tokes' with Obamacare.

And from Anon at 4:48 yesterday, who cares what Putin thinks of us. His country is still in shambles and he is crying for attention.

I support Jeff for spearheading this legislation and trying to bring a dose of reality to our archaic marijuana laws.

  6. Doctor NO to marijuanaFebruary 12, 2014 at 1:28 PM

The main active chemical is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which moves quickly through the bloodstream to the brain and other organs throughout the body.

THC acts on specific targets in the brain, called cannabinoid receptors. Ordinarily, these receptors are activated by brain chemicals similar to THC that are part of a neural communication system, and play an important role in brain development and function. Marijuana over activates this system, causing impaired coordination, difficulty with thinking and problem solving, and disrupted learning and memory.39

Because it impairs coordination and judgment, marijuana use can more than double a driver’s risk of being in an accident. And when used in conjunction with alcohol, the combined result is worse than either substance alone.

Anyone so involved in its legalization, you have to really wonder what he's getting out of it.
