Excited delirium...another nut job with raging hormones? This reminds me of the Twinkie defense or perhaps the one used recently by that kid who confessed to intoxication manslaughter and got off using an "affluenza defense.

believe is a person driven to violence by ‘excited delirium.’ I'm sure we will be reading more on this and other crazy defenses as long as there are attorneys alive.
I view the 'defence' or even the 'diagnosis' of excited delirium a bit different. To me, it legitimizes a very strong reaction to someone attacking you. It is much more effective to cite stand your ground when you were fearful of a person suffering from excited delirium and the inability to stop them by any other means without suffering severe injury or death yourself. Your life and safety were absolutely in jeopardy.
