Low Lives will try anything and they do

An excerpt from an e-mail I just received about a woman on Snowden Drive and the burglars:

...burglars broke in through the back and took ALL gifts under the tree ALL her jewelry and several hunting rifles her husband uses.  My dad said over 20k dollars!  My dad spoke to me about cars 'stalking' the victims homes by parking across the street in Lake Osborne.

After leaving my dads house we went to our house about 7:30pm.   As you know we live west of high ridge on Lk Osborne.  Lo and behold  there was a gray Toyota right in front of our house!   We knew the people were in the car for the lights  flashed.  Tag N447YG, we parked behind it for i did not want to go into the house and be seen;  just a women and child entering a dark house.   We also noticed it had a dent in the truck left of the Toyota emblem.

This woman went on to say that she will take special notice of cars parked on Lake Osborne Drive with occupants who might be casing property, always a good thing to do.  Although I have called the Sheriff on a few occasions now, they say they can't do anything.  The park closes from dusk to dawn and people are parking out there way after dusk, sometimes throughout the night or parking their vehicle all day with a For Sale sign. Some deputies don't even know park rules and others don't even know that where they park on the side of the road is county park property.

This guy below knows how to play the system.  He has one car out there with two For Sale signs on it that are placed away from the street.  The other car has no signs but both cars are for sale. When the sheriff drives by, he misses the For Sale signs altogether...you don't really notice them from the road.  Now if this guy had signs on both cars, he would be told to "move on" and be ticketed for a running a business illegally, so said a deputy.  In my opinion, he is doing that anyway even with one car in the mix and should not be using our city streets or county roads for a business without a proper license or permit.

I do not want my community becoming a used car depot. This is the same guy who parked his car on Lake Avenue for a day.

  2. There is a house on the corner of 6th avenue south and south b street that every week has a different care for sale. They are running an illegal used car lot out of that property's drive way, one car at a time.

  3. Do we have any ordinances on this sort of thing? Mr. Waters?

  4. If the car is registered in that homeowner's name, then he can sell one car that is parked on his property. If it is not his car, I would think that would be illegal. I was talking about a bozo parking cars for sale on city owned streets or country roads, not private property. Either way, they are both pulling a fast one.

  5. I call PBSO non-er on everything. Honestly, I've ended up calling and it being neighbor's guests or family but we'd all rather have the police come out and make sure. I will say that PBSO really does a very poor job of enforcing any of our local ordinances including parking. But, I just say suspicious person sitting in car, appears to be casing houses.
