  1. I wonder if LW homeowners will vote to have their taxes raised for 30 years with this bond?

It seems like most who do not own LW property, but rent, yet vote will vote for this, I wonder if many actual property owners will vote for such and increase for so many years.

What do you think Lynn? Does it seem like it would pass?

If it did, how much would be wasted or would we really see improvements in roads, sidewalks, and other infrastructure under any elected and hired leadership? Would there be corruption in these improvement funds? Will we have more howeownership, less renters, more people who care and take care of their properties?

    Time will tell....

  2. We can't even get rich people in this city to keep up their properties, will all this money for 2020 really lead to major improvements?

  3. So is the City Manager, Michael Bornstein
    to speak on
    Lake Worth 2020 program
(infrastructure and Park of Commerce) pushing the 2020 for the current commish? that, if passed by
the Commission and placed on the March ballot,
could affect your taxes for 30 years.

Does the City Manager get a big raise for going around to all the NA meetings promoting this? Is this HIS job? Why is he politicking for the commish?

Why can't the CM return calls and emails to citizens? Why can't he clean up this blight and address code enforcement better? When will we see real results from this CM?

  4. @12:11am---I don't see this passing. First of all, they give us NO figures on the cost and avoid that question when asked. They know right now what it will cost but will not tell us. If they do plan "A" it will cost XX amount of dollars, etc. Why won't they tell us? Because they want to sell the idea first and then snag everyone in. Can they even get a bond? If so, how much would a bank or financial institution be willing to loan? Would they even go out 30 years?

Next, if the almost 60% renters vote for it, their rents will rise to reflect this cost by the property owners. It won't be a win for them.

It's a great wish. I think they would have better luck finding a fairy Godmother who could wave her wand over LW. This is the biggest "wishlist' and the most ambitious in the history of this city. It's almost like building a city from scratch. Maxwell continues to bemoan the costs at the casino a $6 mil project that is being funded by the merchants, but has no problem spending tens of millions perhaps up to $100mil if they did the entire wish list, with taxpayer money. It's easy to spend other people's money.

They need to come up with a plan that makes sense to all those who will have to fund it. Start with the worst block first and assess the property owners on that block? Then tackle the 2nd worst street, etc. When you have a lot of money in your pocket, it has an uncanny way of disappearing. They want the $$$$.

  5. I would suggest that you or someone else ask for a "detailed" accounting of the utilities bond from 2004. They have demonstrated a penchant for misspending of taxpayers dollars and have little or no credibility. They renegotiated that bond to a lower interest rate, but negates the fact of mistrust. I believe when everyone sees the lack of productive use of the monies they will be upset and never consider any more fruitless spending with no accountability.

  7. PROPAGANDA: ideas or statements that are often false or exaggerated and that are spread in order to help a cause, a political leader, a government, etc. (Read your NA By-Laws and Propaganda is a BIG NO NO!)

The Vision is NOT from We the People but an expensive repeat of TOD; Obscenely Expensive and FROM STAFF, the common denominator!

Basic Services paid by taxes are the very things they want to pull a bond for! Pay for these 1st! Limit the STARVING ARTIST Programs found in almost EVERY CITY in the USA! STOP the BS - we ALL KNOW it's election time! NA's might want to watch their steps! Just cause the by-laws DO NOT FOLLOW the rules of procedure (Roberts Rules) and can change the game w/a simple vote DOES NOT CHANGE the regulations to operate as a 501 c 3 or whatever. My questions WERE CENSORED at the last election NA debate! The NA, the candidates and even the press didn't care but I sure did!

Enough is enough and we are not that stupid!
    Back OFF Sam!
