Florida House and Senate make deal on Campaign Finance and Ethics

State Senator Jeff Clemens had the right vote. He was one out of two Democrats who voted against SB2 which will increase campaign contribution levels from a maximum of $500 to $1,000 for local elections and from $500 to $3,000 for state elections.

Clemens said, "I couldn't see myself going back to Palm beach County and telling people that I voted to double the campaign contribution limits... and that's the opposite direction that the people want us to move in."

The bill passed in the Florida Senate on a 37 to 2 vote and the House Bill 569 passed 79 to 34.
