Austin, not the City

Comment Up
Austin Brookley is in the news. Not familiar with him?  I have written about him before...nice young man, 20 years old, who is now Chair of the Lake Worth Recreation Board. He is a graduate of Lake Worth High School and was introduced to Lake Worth politics by former and fleeting mayor, Rene Varela and acted as his protege/aide.

Varela cost us over $20,000 for a special election and this present "visionary" trio commission followed his example for a special election to be held in March 2013. Wasting money.

We sure can remember what Varela cost the taxpayers here.

Initially, Austin was a big campaigner for the Organizing for America Obama campaign. All young people are idealistic...some old people too. Along with other liberal groups who had a "hard on" for those who have worked hard and have made it in this country, Austin was demonstrating in front of Allen West's office on Thursday to support Obama's' solution to our financial crisis...contributing to class warfare--tax more to all those making over $250,000 a year.

We sure are cognizant of what Obama has cost this country.

  1. Allen West "made it" in this country?
Any income he's received for the last 20 years has been the result of the federal government. First his military pay, then his congressional pay, now his pensions.
For someone that hates the "takers" so much he sure is taking a lot from the government he wants to shrink down.
Is that the sign if "making it"?
Relying on federal money to live?
Then by God you've "made it" too.
    Congratulations.

  2. Lynn,

Respectfully submitted, what is the point of this post?

Here is a young man who volunteers his time for the city and exercises his right to peacefully demonstrate. I am sure he had nothing to do with Varela stiffing the city with the cost for the special election.

So why drag him into the limelight?

  3. Look--
    I allowed your personal attack.
Allen West served our country protecting yours and my rights. He served in two wars. Are you absolutely 100% certifiable? I would bet that you don't even honor veterans. Do you say the pledge? anarchist? I'm not even going to go there with social security as that has been answered on numerous occasions.
Go back to school. Get a degree. Be able to think. And you can get government zero interest loans for that too!

  4. Respectfully, he wants to demonstrate at the HQ of Allen West supporting Obama's tax the rich initiative then he deserves the "limelight." Nothing negative was said towards Austin. So, fly away.

  5. Some people are very thick. The point is that he is on a city board, he lives in LW, people know him and he is an ardent Obama liberal and supporter. Therefore, it is news worthy. Now let's hear again how high the Eco Centre building is.
