Lake Worth City Manager Michael Bornstein

Comment Up

A gentleman with a lot on his plate but he gave his time yesterday to attend the Blue Star Memorial dedication to honor our veterans.

  1. Yes, he definately is a gentleman!

  2. A gentleman that passes the buck and ignores emails and requests to meet in person with him. He might be nice and kind to some, but not all, no one is perfect, he certainly isn't either.

  3. I won't put him or anyone on a pedestal, he is human and will disappoint people too.

  4. What about those crappy PR newsletters instead of a weekly report?

  5. Why has he not gotten rid of the Human Resources fool? The Internal Auditor position hasn't gotten filled yet with no revisiting of the Commission's lack of agreement on a market Salary. Why hasn't the HR overpaid fool brought it up?

Why is Bornstein keeping that Community Sustainability dandy? Great to do about LDR's and new but unfunded projects---but no interest in Code Enforcement or the Buildings Dept. Anybody tried to get a fence permit lately?
Now about the new Utility Director.......

  7. I agree, he is not doing anything about Code Enforcement, things are getting bad out there again, so many overgrown and uncared for properties, there is NO CODE ENFORCEMENT, it is his job to organize and clean up this mess literally. he is not doing it. The city looks like hell, too much blight and too many code issues Mr. B!

  9. Lynn, come on......Do you really think this new City Manager is doing a good job?

  10. Lynn, not sure if you know this or have observed, it is common knowledge, people who get into leadership positions this day and age, do not do it based on their own merit, intellect, or effectiveness, they do it because they kissed up, today all people in leadership positions in this country are there because they know how to kiss butt, plain and simple, it is not that they are effective. That is why we have a completely ineffective system in government, in workplaces, schools, all around us, we have the "kiss ups" running everything, usually the most ineffective people, but they know how to kiss a$$! And it is all about their drive for $, power, control, and ego. Not that they know how to run things well, because they don't.

  11. I like Mike's approach. He obviously needs more time to do what he can with the mess we have here financially.

In Lantana, where he held the same position for some 14 years, last Friday I was able to apply for and receive a permit, call for and receive an inspection for the work, all in the same day. They went overboard for this business because Monday was a holiday and the next time I could get an inspection would be Tuesday. This to help a business get opened.

I can't tell you how much that was appreciated by me and the business owner trying to get thing going and opened. I came away thinking how "Business Friendly" Lantana is.

If he can institute that type of feeling here in Lake Worth..... long may he reign.
