Being President is not a closed book test. A wise president will use what resources are available to make a wise and informed decision. It's not pathetic at all, it would be pathetic if you think a President should just operate from the "top of his head".
A President, especially after 4 years on the job, should have known how to answer the questions. He didn't. Romney did. We don't need someone who is good at reading a teleprompter leading the free world.
It reminds meof the kid who used to copy my answers in biology class who sat behind me. He probably ended up going to Harvard.
