In September, Obama’s campaign took in more than $2 million from donors who provided no ZIP code or incomplete ZIP codes, according to data posted on the Federal Election Commission Web site....Chris Walker, a British citizen who lives outside London, told The Post he was able to make two $5 donations to President Obama’s campaign this month through its Web site while a similar attempt to give Mitt Romney cash was rejected. It is illegal to knowingly solicit or accept money from foreign citizens.

Since you're in the know politically any idea when I can buy my Chinese made Jeep?
ReplyDeleteThe New York Post? Really? You do know that's a tabloid rag owned by that standup guy Ruppert Murdoch right?
Chrysler changed its mind after it became a campaign issue.
ReplyDeleteNo, Fiat & Chrysler Group chairman Sergio Marchionne is very clear:
ReplyDeleteAmerican market Jeeps will ALWAYS be made in America. A Chinese partner is required by any foreign manufacturer in China... so they'll be building Jeeps for that market there. It doesnt adversely affect US auto workers in any way. In fact, Chrysler is adding component manufacturing at a new facility in Toledo, Ohio, creating about 1100 jobs. Good for us.
The dog-whistle went off because Romney and Ohio Senator Rob Portman went off on a Bloomberg business story of Fiat's deal to make Jeeps in China, without having the FACTS.
But notice how quiet Mitt has been about another job-creation plan that stands to make him quite a bit of money: Bain Capitol owns Sensata, a sensor and control tech company that supplies the auto industry. China needs stuff like that for their own auto makers. Bain made the workers at the Freeport, Illinois plant train the Chinese personel that will replace them all, and the factory equipment is being shipped to China. Guess Romney doesn't want to talk about it, since the date this will end for US workers happens to be November 5th.
Anon at 6:25 can't make an intellegent comment on the article . All they can do is deflect, deflect, deflect. Sad.
ReplyDeleteHe's clear no @ 10:55. As I said, Chrysler changed its mind. But whether you want to believe that or not, you musty admit that Obama has made some horrendously BAD decisions using taxpayer and borrowed money.
ReplyDeleteNo, Chrysler didn't "change it's mind". From the original source, Bloomberg News:
ReplyDelete"Romney’s Toledo ad cites an Oct. 22 Bloomberg News story about Fiat’s discussions with Guangzhou. Even before Romney spoke in Defiance, Chrysler defended the accuracy of the story while addressing people who may be misinterpreting it.
“Despite clear and accurate reporting, the take has given birth to a number of stories making readers believe that Chrysler plans to shift all Jeep production to China from North America, and therefore idle assembly lines and U.S. workforce,” Gaulberto Ranieri, a senior vice president for corporate communications, wrote in an Oct. 25 blog post on Chrysler’s website. “It is a leap that would be difficult even for professional circus acrobats.”
"The company has no intention of abandoning its North America production, Ranieri wrote. “A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.”
BTW, my mistake... Chrysler will provide 2200 jobs at the Toledo facility, not 1100.
