In order to see "democracy" in action, the Mayor as well as Commissoner Mulvehill, will be on tonight's news regarding the majority of the commission (Maxwell, Triolo and Amoros) denying the Charter Amendment to restrict heights in our downtown to be placed on November's ballot.
WPTV is where it's happening!
Watched both Mulvehil, and the Mayor ( at midnight), and I have to say I go with the Mayor, we need to know ALL rhe ramifications of this BEFORE it is put on the Ballot.
ReplyDeleteWhat did our illustrious mayor have to say? What is there to know? You either want a low-rise city or you want it to grow up and look like some other city somewhere else. It isn't rocket science.
ReplyDeleteActually I would like to grow up and become a grown up city that does not have to rely on the Utilities to bail us out every time there is a short fall.
ReplyDeleteFair enough. Do you have a plan? I have always said, if Greenacres, a city with similar demographics as LW can do it WITHOUT a Utility, why can't we? I believe that we got into tremendously BAD Union contracts for one thing. This trio could have done something about part of that problem this year if they had outsourced the utility customer service. They, instead, played ball with the Unions.
ReplyDeleteLMAO this has been going on for over two decades you can't pin this one one the sitting Commission.
ReplyDeletePin what? They have been in office for 8 months. I can't pin anything substantial that they have accomplished on them either--in fact, just the opposite. Aside from choosing the law firm yesterday, some of their votes are ridiculous.
