Tom is working for The Carlisle Palm Beach, an assisted living facility in Lantana and has just joined the Greater Lantana Chamber of Commerce.

He also is against changing the name of our City. Aren't most of us?

  5. Commissioner Mulvehill answered that question--
Do you have a memory retention problem?
Again, ask your buddy Scott to give one report on anything he has ever attended. You keep picking on Suzanne. Whatever is your problem?

  6. Scott Maxwell says this is about honoring our past and he can say that with a straight face. You have to be kidding me, Maxwell. The big lies continue.

  7. Scott, I don't know who you are listening to but it sure ain't the voters. Ramiccio is smarter.

  8. OMG, I never thought I'd agree with Tom Ramiccio! Just goes to show what a terrible commissioner Scott Maxwell is --he makes Ramiccio look smart!

  10. Ramiccio sure looked spiffy in that interview. Seemed pretty staged to me, is he planning another run for mayor again? For the love of Lake Worth Beach, I sure hope NOT.

  11. Personally, I like the idea of adding beach to our City,s name. While we have our share of bad publicity, it would be nice to not be confused with unincorporated lake worth,. I think it would give us a fresh start, something we desperately need. as a homeowner and voter, that's my opinion.

  12. So why don't we flip it? How about calling unincorporated LW, "Lake Worth West"? Retaining LWorth as the name is historically ours -
And in regard to almost very post up there (anons) -
Seriously, an opinion on ONE non-critical item can make u say that Maxwell is a forever idiot and Ramiccio has the brains?
How may bad decisions do you make a month?

  14. Calling Tom Ramiccio "smart" is a joke. Get it? The BIGGEST idiot in LW politcs is no longer Ramiccio, it's Maxwell. (Maxwell #1, Rammicio #2.)

But make no mistake. I've known Maxwell for 20 years. When he was a minority commissioner fighting against Romano et al, he seemed to be an average citizen in a sea of "good ol boys." In Phase 2, he was against everything again, on a commission that I thought was going in the right direction. (He was better than Retha Lowe, but not who I wanted to rep me in Dist 1.)

Now, in the majority, drunk with power, he's not critical of anything done by majority comm or staff (since he's in control of 2 other votes & hires/fires staff.) So out of the blue, he puts a non-issue of name change on the ballot, while denying the vote to a real issue: changes in our comp plan on heights downtown.

He spends years railing against "bright & shiny objects" then finds the brightest, shiniest object to put on the ballot --to take away attention from the real issues at hand.

Actually, I've said for years that everything west of Congress needs to be West Lake Worth (or better West PB County.) But a city cannot control USPS. If we change to LW Beach, places now called "Lake Worth" will officially be changed to "Lake Worth Beach." --Just like Deray, Boyton, etc.

As the city is about to celebrate 100 years as Lake Worth, this is the WORST time to change the city's name --thereby negating 100 years of history.
