Lake Worth Casino today

  1. The Western Elevation is 1000% better than the old casino. A truly great introduction to our beachfront.
The Southern Elevation seems sterile and almost post modern. It just doesn't seem to fit into the rest of the building.
    Any update on the leasing?

  2. The bathrooms and locker area will be redone. LW T-Shirt company submitted a lease just a few weeks ago that has been passed around. He submitted this after Fox Surf reneged. All is quiet from the city on this lease proposal and I have to ask, "Why?" Barry was at our beach for 25 years. It is time that the city honor his right of first refusal that they screwed him out of before.

  3. Thanks Lynn.
I thought Barry withdrew his Lease offer. The Right of First refusal may be a mute question given the 30-50% vacancy or uncommitted space?
Has Margolis' replacement been named? Is Bornstein taking over her responsibilities on the beach projects?

  4. Barry did withdraw in January. However, he resubmitted a proposal for space 5&6 after Fox got out of the deal. The only other space to lease is the 2nd floor.
Don't know who is in charge of the beach...maybe it's Maxwell. :)

  5. I think you are talking about a 60%availability with The Pizza Parlor and Fox bailing on the first floor and the 2nd floor availability.

  6. Sorry, that is news to me--I did not know that Mama Mia's bailed on the first floor. When did that happen?

  7. The PP objected to paying $35 per sq ft plus an est $10-15 per sq ft in maintence charges while Kilwins was at $25 and $7.

  8. Please check your figures and facts on this matter. Kilwins was the only tenant who got a good deal by this commission.

  9. Hopeful that the Casino will be successful in leasing space. "I keep hearing stories of contractors turning down projects BECAUSE dealing with our building department is JUST TOO DIFFICULT"...."permits for the most mundane items...." etc etc. Lake Worth code enforcement creates obstacles to those interested in investing in LW. LW cannot live on HUD grants alone. A ghost town is developing. LW Code Enf is unorganized, illiterate in some cases and the manager keeps job hopping, wonder why?

Investor group last week indicated they are leaving LW. One sold property in LW last month to Fern House! That's just what we need, more drug rehab facilities in LW. That's all that will be left.
