Explosion in West Palm Beach

Comment Up

Local police and the DEA are investigating the explosion that occurred on Monday in West Palm Beach at a 4 unit warehouse. It has been suggested that the explosion was caused by chemicals-- that drugs were being manufactured. Rumor has it that the synthetic drug, Spice, was the culprit.

Packets of a similar description, as shown to the left, were catapulted sky high when the building exploded.

Spice is a synthetic marijuana and popular with teens and the "20 somethings." It is banned in many countries but not yet in the United States. Studies have shown that Spice has many negative side effects that marijuana does not: anxiety attacks, hallucinations, nausea, and a chemical dependency.

This dangerous synthetic "drug" may be closer to Lake Worth than we know.

  1. Drugs with our youth and even older folks is a real problem. I never knew what 420 meant until I went to San Fran a month ago and it was 420 day/weekend and everyone was smoking pot all over the city freely, they are very liberal there about drugs. The ironic thing is that bars close at 2 and they stop serving at 1:30, MADD is so strong there as it relates to alcohol. We need a MADD group but to work toward reducing this drug use. It is crazy, something like 5 in 8 young people use pot regularly, crazy. People too do not realize that these drugs and use are not only harmful to them physically, but hurt other countries and displace communities and cause civil wars, like in Colombia with the FARC and now more in Mexico with all the drug cartels, when someone uses drugs, they are adding too a greater harm to another people and nation, I have seen it in Colombia, it is very sad to see what the illegal drug industry has done to the nation, all the displacement of families and communities, no one wants to live in the rural areas anymore, due to the insecurity there. Mexico is becoming the same way. Drugs are bad, they hurt people and a society, anyone who uses them is to blame. It is sad that today so many people need to use drugs to escape reality. Our youth and drug abusers need a lot of prayers and support.

You had better get a good coat and a blanket. Also, get a dictionary. Groovy is spelled with 'r' and no 'e'. Can I get you a bus ticket out of town?

  5. Ronald Reagan, the CIA along with the republicans smuggled millions of tons of cocaine into the country in the 80's and were a big cause for the crack epidemic in large cities, especially Los Angeles.
They used the proceeds from the drug sales to finance their secret war in Central America after congress told Ronald Reagan not to get involved.
Ronald Reagan is the conservative ideal? These are conservative principals?

  6. Absolutely, you can NOT TRUST any politician, they always have alterior motives and it is all about money. War is also a big money thing for leaders, it is a sin, all the arms the US sells to so many countries that are then used against our friends like Isreal. It happens all over, even they say the FARC has a lot of American arms, if we really wanted peace in this world, we would nto allow that. It is all about greed and money, they really do not want peace.
