Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Don't get in the way of the Maxwell punch.
The question that needs to be asked...who's next on the chopping block?
Anyone you don't like? Is there anyone on staff that has looked at you cross-eyed?
Tell Maxwell the facilitator or one of his accomplices.
You want a solution to a "problem," fire the person in charge.

Ed Fry was no dummy. He got the hell out. Becky Mattey was no dummy. She is getting the hell out. Mary Areson got out. You want to dismantle our city Vice Mayor for all your developer crony pals?
ReplyDeleteWill Bornstein get a grip or will he just allow Scott and Pam to tell him what to do.
ReplyDeleteFiring somebody with a $3mil cost overrun on an $11 mil project is a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteGetting rid of the HR Dir. must be next given what job applicants have been told by him and the ineptitude shown in the CM hiring process.
Maybe Waters can be saved if he gets the word that we will have an effective Code Enforcement Dept and that Cara isn't going to get away with hyjacking the Comp Plan and the LDR's.
P&Z and Hist Res Boards need to be combined and dramatically strengthened.
This guy understands. Great week Mike.
Anonymous--Do you have ANY idea who is responsible for the costs to be millions higher? Look to the "real" culprit and those on the deal like Living Designs and Szerdi. Bornstein just showed his lack of leadership this week.
ReplyDeleteHow much do we have to pay her to go away? These government employees have quite a racquet.
ReplyDeleteMr. Maxwell is the epitome of the radical anarchist he purports to eschew.I am told he fuels up at Dave's Lasr Resort.
ReplyDeletePerhaps this is the reason for his constantly angry and abusive tone at Commission meetings.
It was posted on Wes's blog that Szerdi was cut out of the design of the casino.
ReplyDeleteWhich post is accurate?
To answer that question, Living Designs is a part of the beach redevelopment. His design for the casino was not chosen. It is the beach redevelopment where the costs have escalated to ridiculous millions. We should have had the project manager reduce the scope of work and work within the original budget, $5 million dollars. I agree with Maxwell on this one but in the end, he went along to spend it. all of them are at fault on this one.
ReplyDeleteMr. Fry applied to St. Lucie County well before Ms. Stanton was terminated. Unfortunately Margoles was blamed for a lot of the misinformation regarding the Casino/Beach projects when she may have been instructed to no respond. Margoles' attitude at times was not repectful and that may have hurt her. Rebecca Mattey did decide to leave after Ms. Stanton was terminiated. Her reasons haven't been disclosed and it doesn't seem she has another job yet.
ReplyDeleteScott Maxwell constantly goaded Margoles. He knows perfectly well that she reports to the City manager, not to him. Nothing went out to commissioners or to the public that was not approved first by the city manager. Maxwell is the one who constantly put her, as well as a few other executives, on hot seats that they did not deserve. So, if it seemed disrespectful on her part at times, it wasn't. It was her way of expressing herself...her personality, if you will. She did the job assigned to her. The disrespect was more so on Maxwell's part knowing that she had no control over certain aspects of her job; it was the city manager.
