Presented to the Commission at the last minute before last night's meeting and unknown to the public or even to Sustainability Manager William Waters until a meeting with the new city manager after two days on the job, Mr. Bornstein denied the approval of the Zoning in Progress and discounted all of the work that was involved to get us to this place. He said it was a "rushed" effort. Is it any wonder that our Comprehensive Plan has taken seven long years and could take seven more?
He's been made by Maxwell already. Ugh
ReplyDeleteLast night after the meeting I asked Scott Maxwell how he liked being on the other side of the 3 to 2 vote. He acted confused by the question and did not answer. He is never short on answers while the mike is on.
ReplyDeletePeter Timm has no clue as to what he is talking about. Too many fools in this city being fooled.
ReplyDeleteI have know Michael Bornstein for over ten years. No one will control his thinking and approach to doing his job for Lake Worth.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange that the cry before was "we should listen to staff" and now it is don't listen. Mr. Bornstein said he had discussed this with staff which would appear to be the case as Mr. Waters showed slides for the process with and without the ZIP. How could he do that if he hadn't discussed the situation with the City Manager.
Yes, we should weigh staff's suggestions and put them high on the scale. Mr. Waters comes well prepared to all his meetings before the Commission. I was told that he was not informed by this last minute memo that was delivered to the commission.
ReplyDeleteIt is the process that I have a problem with. It is the bullying from the dais. It is the interference by the few. It is the procrastination and the flip flops. I do not want to see Mr. Bornstein compromised by anyone on that dais or give the perception of that. Bullies have a way.
Hopefully, you know him well and that will not occur.
Thanks for your post. At least it was civil.
The least we can do for each other is to be civil. We can have different perspectives and still be respectful of one another.
ReplyDeleteSeven years is rushed? Right.
ReplyDeleteThe public had no notice of this. It's not so much the subject than it is the process. The lack of respect for the taxpayers of Lake Worth is incredible.I guess you had better be sitting your azz in that damned chamber because there is no proper notice to the real bosses of lake Worth, the citizens.Disgusting!!
