As President Obama looks to raise taxes on the top 1% in this country, New York's governor, Andrew Cuomo, wants to do the same thing in his state as part of a deal to overhaul the tax rates. Read about it at The New York Times.
We must be the only city in the country that wanted to assess a special tax that will hit the poor the hardest. Lake Worth and the Palm Beach Post both said that this is "fair." Look for the special fire assessment on tonight's agenda, Public Hearings F and the street lights Public Hearings G.
It is amazing to me that there are two on the dais who supposedly care about the poor and downtrodden but allow themselves to be manipulated by Staff. Golden out. Waterman out. Does it take total change?
ReplyDeleteIt's about damn time. Furthermore, I don't know what maxwell is thinking by trying to tax those with better property less. He ran uncontested....unbelievable!
