Lake Worth Mayoral Candidates

Comment Up
Someone there for the ḥuṣpâ

"I'm the only one running who owns a house."

"I voted for it before I voted against it."
"I speak 3 languages."
"I am Jewish with more ḥuṣpâ than you."

"I don't care if you vote for me or not!"
"I speak only one language; I keep it real."
"I am Jewish with ḥuṣpâ."
"Those applying for city boards should have a criminal background check."

I have not featured photos of Andy or Jo-Ann as I did not capture a good photo of Commissioner Golden. However, the best quote of the evening was from Commissioner District 3 candidate,
Andy Amoroso when he said,

"We take better care of our animals than we do our elderly."

The worse revelation of the evening was Dustin Zacks' and his motivation to run--to do a hatchet job on Rachel Waterman. I want to know who put him up to it. What or who is behind this? There is no other reason to do this other than too much ḥuṣpâ. I was disappointed as I was hoping that he was bringing something to the table. He did not. That was not his intention, only to bring Waterman down.

  1. Re Dustin Zacks...he seems to have his own mind and I don't think anyone 'put him up to it". I applaud him for his zeal. He is young and could be a bit more subtle, but I see a lot of promise. To see him if he is active in politics in a few years might be quite interesting. RE Pam, Good effort, and good message. She has been here, will be here, and is a successful business woman with a desire to help the town. I am leaning her way. Re: Rachel...she speaks well, and means well, is very intelligent, but I don't like how she skirts around the fact that she hasn't been here that long..and I'm not sure she can handle the public interaction as well as she'd like. She could have kept her cool this evening and been more successful. Andy did quite well, was extremely 'en pointe' and Maxwell was very sincere in his advice to the public. I don't believe Golden was up to the challenge today, and I felt bad re her injury. It was good she showed up though.

  2. Good Comments Anon 12:31,

Many or most of us who going to vote....SHAME on those who don't! Have probably already made of their minds. I know I have and I know each of the candidates and feel strong that this is going to be a Triolo and Amoroso win.

I personally think they bring the most to the table this round however would like to say that Zacks needs to stay interested and consider future elections.

Simply put the old guard and yes Waterman is part of that even if she is recently elected has failed and we need new fresh ideas on the Dias!

  3. The only thing that Zacks should run for is OUT OF TOWN.

  4. I guess that means he will be the candidate that you will beat up on this election

  5. What did Zacks say that wasn't true? Waterman made it a point to focus on Tom's past discretions, true and fictitous during the last election. What's the problem?

  6. Dustin Zacks is only a candidate in name only. I don't plan on wasting my time on him other than when he blows smoke again.

This should be on the issues. Wise up Zacks.

  7. Waterman ran a clean campaign. She never focused on Tom.

  8. Waterman didn't have to anything against Tom.....

But now she has to run based on what little time she has been in office and based on how she already has voted.

Then not to mention how she has interacted with people and groups through out the city.

Some will be good some will be bad...However I will always remember how she roles her eyes when the public has something to say that she does not like. Plain and simple at least pretend you care about what the person is saying even if you don't agree.
