Proposed Tax Bills

Comment Up
Did everyone get their proposed tax bill in today's mail?

Instead of a value loss of 3.57% as reported, every single family residential property that I checked on line went up in value from the preceding year. Their taxes went up accordingly. My condo went down in value in double digits percentages and all condos that I checked went down.

Everyone please check and let us know if your value went up or down this year. Report back what quadrant of the City you reside.

  3. My value is up and my taxes are up. I didn't know what to expect with this mess. Of course it is only a proposed budget. We still have lake worth's specials to be added on. I live in the northeast section of the city. Hope this helps.

  4. Thanks for calling Lynn. The only taxes this building pays are those to the city for stormwater znd garbage. We don't payany taxes to any special taxing authority. If the city taxes all of our units here for fire the tax will be 11,700.That means that we all will get rent increases. This is a home for the elderly.

  7. I live on North B Street and my value went up by $900 and taxes went up by $86. Can't wait to get lake worth's special assessment. That's a joke.

  8. I think it is important to stress the ability to protest your "market value". The value adjustment process is easy and will cost you $15 to apply.

While it is up to you to have to prove your value is too high, very often the Appraiser's Office will adjust the value before you even you go to hearing. The savings can be significant if they adjust your property value down by $10K.

The assessed market value is supposed to be what your house would sell for on January 1st of 2011.

    Hope this helps.
