All in attendance got a copy of the Constitution from The Heritage Foundation. Richard McAdmas who is the Director of Major Gifts, Florida, one of the Heritage departments, spoke briefly telling us that 4 years ago, they had 280,000 members which is now up to over 700,000.Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational institution—a think tank—whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.
It was a most informative evening and on top of everything else, Katie and I both won a door prize! I won a book. Actually it is three novels in one by Nelson DeMille, one of my favorite authors--and I haven't even finished Ted Brownstein's book yet, Sunshine Republic. This is another thing you can learn from dogs--take the time to smell the roses.
Next month's meeting will be speaker Murray Sabrin - "The Case for Zero taxation."
