This has to be very frustrating to Rep. Allen West as he said originally that it was going to be extremely difficult to protect civilians from thirty thousand feet. Everyone now knows he was 100% correct.

“There will be no American boots on the ground in Libya,” Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said last month in congressional hearings on March 31. He also added that there will not be ground troops "as long as I’m in this job."
According to U.S. African Command, Army General Carter Ham, he told congressional leaders in a closed meeting April 5 that the military is considering sending ground troops into Libya.
