There are some on the Dais who just believe that we should all go away...you know, those silly people who speak in front of them with suggestions and/or grievances. Compliments are allowed but heavens, don't give any particular Commissioner one--verboten!
The Staff has come up with 22 rules of decorum. 22! You must address the Chair and it is forbidden to address anyone on Staff by name! Instead of saying Joe Blow of Public Works left garbage strewn all over my yard, you have to say, "a member of public works left garbage..." Talk about ridiculous! Oh, you will no longer be able to use the word "ridiculous" when addressing the Chair.
If you do not follow these rules of "decorum" bad stuff will happen to ya such as--
They will switch the microphone off at the lectern.
They will even give you a police escort out of the building.
There are eight (8) rules if you look at the ordinance language. The twenty-two rules are in the model from Durham, NC.
ReplyDeleteSince I can't mention them by name tonight: Pam Lopez, who lied through her teeth to my PAC and stole our petitions that we spent over 5,000 to collect. Pam ,the liar, still has a job,and a mighty nice pension. City attorney Elaine Humphries, who was so bent on ILLEGALLY keeping the lake Osborne neighborhood in the dark ,that she BROKE STATE STATUTES to do it!Another liar, another paycheck. Commissioner Scott Maxwell that poster boy for district by district voting. Scotts constituents Overwhelmingly want the Casino redevelopment and the purchase of the Sunset property.Scott, a supreme government of one, disagrees and refuses to do the will of the people.Suzanne Mulvehill, Joanne Golden and Christopher Mcvoy, three spineless weenies that are trying to hide behing a lie and not keep their promises to protect the Lake osborne single family neighborhood. And finally, the Queen. Susan Stanton. The puppet master, who lied her way into a job here in Lake Worth.Would Mcvoy,Mulvehill and Golden even have the capability to draw a breath unless their master Stanton told them to?Pam, Elaine, Susan,Joann, Christopher ,Scott and Suzanne, you people SUCK! and Lake Worth would be much better off without you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know that you will continue to adhere to all of them as will I and try not to be intimidated as to what may offend.
ReplyDeleteThe reason all of this is happening is because the public sick and tired of the ineffective leadership from this city that does not listen to the people. Our city is ill run and we already have Robert's Rules of Order, this should be enough. The city wants to shut us up, our Federal government is the same. If only they would listen and be more effective.
ReplyDeleteYou would think the city leaders could use this time to talk about something more productive to improve our city, i.e. like crime, the blight, the overgrown lots, the lack of code enforcement, the disorderly conduct of the drunks all over the city from the illegals, homeless, and whities that hang out by Igot's.
There are better things to do for our city than focusing on this, it is their fault, people are angry, no one is listening to the public anymore.
What is next?
They want to silence us. Power hungry idiots. Don't let them.
ReplyDeleteI agree, people are angry, all you have to do is see, kkss21 comments to verify this. And people will get angrier too in this city, as city leaders are not listening to the people of this city, the public as a whole. Katie, you are so right, most of our leadership in our city really stinks, they are ineffective and do not listen to us. Maybe what is next is some type of civil war in this city, how much more will the people put up with here? The politics here are so bad, the politicians are so ineffective, and the city manager does what she wants, high and haughty, thinking she and her views are better than any of the citizens, she treats people like crap and like we are nothing. How much longer will she manipulate and control our city? It is truly sad for our people and city as a whole here in this great little city called Lake Worth.
ReplyDeleteThe City Commission continues to give up its powers to the city mgr. It is time that they listen to US, not one dictator.
ReplyDeleteWPB has a strong Mayor form of govt. Here we have a city commission and a city manager. The City Manager has assumed the strong mayor position. This Commission needs to take it back and do it now. Even voting on Scott Maxwell's travel to Washington DC AFTER THE FACT because the city manager told Scott it was ok, is NOT why we elected you. DO IT RIGHT, commissioners. Watch out for your citizens. Question everything. No exceptions. It is our money, not yours and certainly not staff's.
ReplyDeleteThe right of free speech is not absolute but to be offended by someone pointing a finger, talking loudly or slamming their paperwork down on the podium, is pathetic. It really is.
Lynn, this is your famous quote of the day, "The right of free speech is not absolute but to be offended by someone pointing a finger, talking loudly or slamming their paperwork down on the podium, is pathetic. It really is." You should read this at the meeting tonight and tell them this. This is just crazy that we are being silenced like this. Sooner than later we will have protesting in the streets, doesn't Stanton and these elected offools know this? We have the right to question everything and we should. So many buy into the government as being the final word, we should never settle for this, we must force change and demand democracy and equality, we need to demand an effective government and one that listens and is accountable to the citizens it represents.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sin, God forbid people show emotions when they speak at the podium. I am reminded to the following Cicero quote with all of this nonsense:
ReplyDelete"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be
refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of
officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the
assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome
become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead
of living on public assistance."
Cicero - 55 BC
The sentence "People must again learn to work, instead
ReplyDeleteof living on public assistance." is a stiking idea. I think our governement is allowed people to become enabled in accepting so much welfare, WIC, public assistance, food stamps, unemployment, no one wants to work any more or contribute to the good of this country, they all want it all for free, and become lazy and worthless feeling like taking this assitance it the best, as if they cannot work and contribute to the tax base. It is a sin what our government is allowing for people and how people abuse the system too. We are going bankrupt here.
So many abuse the system now, we are hurting the people, making them believe amlost liek they cannot working by giving them eveything. Do we want to silence them and buy them off to be quiet and complacent?
