Taken the instant the lights were turned onIt was a typical Florida night, warm and humid, while we waited for Santa’s arrival and the lighting of the tree…but there was nothing typical regarding the attendance at our downtown. While chatting with the Mayor, he said that he can’t remember when he had seen so many people at the Cultural Plaza. In fact, the entire downtown was packed with people. Everyone was in a festive mood and Christmas spirit. Former Commissioner, Nadine Burns volunteered her time and played Mrs. Claus.
