Tucker Carlson says he plans to help build a new political party after breaking with President Trump and the Republican Party over the Iran war.The conservative podcaster argued that Democrats and Republicans are too aligned on the issues he believes matter most to Americans.
Carlson made the declaration in an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review.
“I’m going to help build a third party,” Carlson said. He said there should be a “good-faith effort” to determine what benefits the country.
Carlson said his biggest concerns are “war and finance.” He argued that Democrats and Republicans are largely aligned on both issues. “That’s not a democracy,” Carlson said.
He described the system as “a one-party state posing as a democracy.”
